About the Role

HashiCorp is seeking a Sr. II Product Analyst to utilize data gained from internal and external research to inform our product portfolio and investment strategy. In this role, you will analyze and support key decisions affecting HashiCorp’s product portfolio, such as evaluating and driving new product opportunities and aligning existing products to our overall company goals. You will also work cross functionally with our GTM and marketing teams to translate these insights into pricing and packaging strategies.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

  • Portfolio Planning and Strategic Initiatives: Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for improvement and propose strategic adjustments to our product portfolio strategy.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Investigate positioning and functionality of competitive offerings to develop a view on competitive intelligence and produce corresponding strategic reports and assets.  intelligence position, while contributing to a broader culture of strategic thinking and data-driven product development.
  • Product Investment: Assess product investment levels for new and existing products. Analyze market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Product Analytics: Create and own a portfolio-level set of comprehensive analytics that can be utilized product management teams can use to assess the health of their products. There metrics will be a comprehensive set following the entire lifecycle of our products, including marketing, GTM, product, and finance related KPIs. 
  • Pricing and Packaging: Partner with product marketing to enhance packaging strategies, focused on collecting and using data to drive a consistent approach to packaging across our portfolio. This will also extend into enhancing our free-to-paid customer motions. 
  • Cloud Migration Strategy: Assist in building a strategy around the migration from on-premise to cloud-based products, balancing HashiCorp’s open-source aspects and community with the aforementioned strategies.

What you’ll need (qualifications)

  • Education and Experience: 10+ years of experience in a product analyst, product management, or management consulting role, or other relevant experience. MBA a plus.
  • Background: Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS business models, with exposure to both on-premise licensing models and the migration to cloud. Experience with either open source business models or two-sided marketplaces is a plus.
  • Analytical & Technical Skills: Advanced ability to analyze complex data, interpret trends, and provide actionable insights. High proficiency in data analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau / Sigma, and other data query and analysis tools. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaboration Skills: Experience partnering across R&D, GTM, and Marketing teams, with the ability to translate complex topics into a common language,influence cross-functional stakeholders, and manage complex processes.
