The Role

As part of a global enterprise technology team, you will contribute to building robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications using Node.js. You will work with modern backend technologies, follow industry best practices, and develop secure, maintainable, and efficient software solutions.

You will work in a collaborative Agile team comprising Architects, Technical Leads, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Developers, QA Automation Engineers, and DevOps experts, reporting to the Team Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Node.js.
  

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with databases and external systems.
  

• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
  

• Implement secure and high-performance backend solutions.
  

• Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  

• Participate in code reviews and follow continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  

• Contribute to application architecture and technical design discussions.
  

• Work with relational databases, optimize queries, and ensure efficient data management.
  

• Troubleshoot backend issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
  

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js.
  

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  

• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  

• Good understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and Node.js fundamentals.
  

• Hands-on experience with SQL databases, data modelling, and query optimization.
  

• Strong fundamentals in OOP, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  

• Experience writing automated unit tests using Jest, Mocha, or equivalent frameworks.
  

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, error handling, and backend application security.
  

• Ability to write clean, modular, reusable, and testable code.
  

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile team.
  

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  

• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
  

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  

• Exposure to Docker, containerization, and cloud-based application deployment.
  

• Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Agile engineering practices.
  

• Familiarity with caching, message queues, application monitoring, and performance optimization.
