About Digs

Digs is a specialty potato company, vertically integrated from genetics to final packaging. We're building a high-growth brand that is rethinking what potatoes can be for consumers and retailers alike. We believe the potato is an unsung hero, and that it deserves a great story, beautiful packaging, and a best-in-class sales team.

Why this role exists

Digs is adding retail and wholesale accounts across the country. Every account we win needs an owner: someone accountable for the relationship, the revenue, and the growth inside it. The Senior Account Manager owns a book of those accounts and runs them like a business.

Position overview

The Senior Account Manager is the person our buyers and category managers work with week to week: running the business, building the annual and quarterly plans, quoting within established pricing guardrails, and finding the next item, the next store count, and the next program inside each account.

This role is for an experienced account manager with produce category fluency and existing buyer relationships. Order processing, freight, inventory, and item setup are handled by our Commercial Operations team, so your time stays on the customer.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the relationship, revenue, and growth of an assigned book of retail and wholesale accounts.
  • Run the weekly customer cadence: account calls, order coverage, issue resolution, and follow-through.
  • Build and execute annual and quarterly account plans, including ad and promotional planning, category reviews, and resets.
  • Grow penetration within the book through item expansion, store count, and new programs.
  • Own category management for your accounts: build the data-backed review and bring the retailer a business case.
  • Quote and manage pricing within established ranges and target averages.
  • Own account analytics and P&L visibility: order patterns, sell-through, promotional performance, and profitability by account.
  • Administer trade and promotional spend: planned, tracked, executed, and measured.
  • Keep the CRM current for your accounts: meetings, commitments, next steps, and outcomes.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations on order lifecycle, freight, inventory, and item setup.
  • Team-sell new items alongside Product and the Chief Sales Officer.
  • Travel to accounts on a regular cadence, quarterly at minimum for major accounts.

What success looks like

  • Assigned accounts grow in volume and profitability against plan.
  • Performance shows up in shipped volume, repeat order rates, and account profitability.
  • Every account has a current plan and a documented next step.
  • Buyers treat you as their primary contact and bring you resets and opportunities early.
  • Category reviews and promotional plans are placed on the retailer's calendar in advance.
  • Account activity and commitments are current and visible in the CRM.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in account management or sales within produce, CPG, or food retail; potato or fresh produce strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships with retail buyers and category managers, and fluency in how resets, category reviews, and programs work.
  • Demonstrated ownership of account revenue and growth targets.
  • Strong analytics: comfortable turning sell-through and promotional data into a retailer-ready business case.
  • Disciplined operator with reliable follow-through and CRM habits.
  • Ready to contribute immediately with existing relationships and a working playbook.
  • Willing to travel to accounts regularly.
  • Degree preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.

This role is for you if

  • You want to own accounts and be measured on how they perform.
  • You would rather be in front of a buyer than behind an inbox.
  • You are organized enough that nothing needs to be asked for twice.
  • You want room to grow into leading a team as the book expands.
  • You are motivated by visible, measurable results.

This role is not for you if

  • You are looking for a coordination or support seat behind someone else's accounts.
  • You need detailed direction to move.
  • You avoid pricing conversations or accountability for a number.
  • You prefer not to be the face of the company to a retailer.
  • You want a role where the work never changes.

Work environment and travel

This role can be based at our Arizona facility or in a major retail market, with regular travel to accounts, customer meetings, category reviews, and industry shows.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive base compensation; final range confirmed based on experience and location.
  • Performance bonus eligibility tied to account growth and retention.
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Paid time off.
  • Travel reimbursement.
