Feedzai is securing the transition to a cashless world while enabling digital trust in every transaction and payment type. Feedzai is a Series D company and has raised $282M to date. With a valuation of +$1.5B, the company's technology protects 900 million people in 190 countries.

The Engineering (Tech) Team is responsible for all Feedzai product development. Together with Product Management and Data Science, we build the next generation of tools to catch fraud in real-time with a machine learning first approach. Formed by engineers and managed by engineers, at Feedzai, you will find one of the most talented teams out there, from junior to senior engineers.

We are fast-paced and provide a safe, open, and collaborative environment that encourages us to lean in, try new things, and discover our potential with continuous learning for everyone.

While building the best value for our customers, you will work with a wide range of technical challenges. Such as building distributed systems that need to operate 24/7 and ultra-low latencies solving UI/UX problems to help fraud analysts to fight fraud more efficiently. In addition, designing extensive databases from relational, NoSQL, and graphs, validate, and develop new data science techniques and algorithms.

The Software Engineer in Test role requires an engineer who is able to look at products from the lens of the customer (internal or external). The main mission is to ensure that the users of our product consider it functionally fit-for-purpose and technically reliable. This requires someone who enjoys understanding the real-world expectations about the software so s/he can devise the right quality assurance strategies.

This role is embedded into product development teams and plays a pivotal role in the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of the quality assurance process across the development & release lifecycle.

Product Teams have end-to-end ownership over the products/components under their jurisdiction, from roadmap definition to SaaS deployment and operation, including the autonomy to define the best quality assurance process for their respective reality.  In Feedzai, we believe that quality is a responsibility of the whole team, but the Software Engineer in Test role is the focal catalyst for the quality mentality we foster in our teams.

Quality is a key element to Feedzai’s strategy; one that is paramount considering our products are mission critical systems and we operate at the heart of financial institutions protecting real people’s money. At the scale we operate, test automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery, sophisticated failure models and validation of systemic properties such as security, performance and reliability are fundamental facets of how we approach quality structurally.

As Software Engineer in Test you will be, as part of the product development team, responsible for developing the products that allow Acquiring banks and Payment Service Providers to manage risk across their portfolio of merchants: Transaction Fraud and Merchant Monitoring. Both products leverage the same underlying Feedzai RiskOps platform, complementing it with specialised services and modules catering for the needs of these industry use cases.

Merchant Monitoring aggregates and assesses all transactions happening in the scope of every merchant with the goal of identifying suspicious patterns over large periods of time, detecting risks such as collusion, money laundering, bankruptcy and more. This product protects the bank/payment provider from internal threats (fraudulent merchants). The result is preventing criminal organizations from obtaining the funds they need to operate, specially when using online facade merchants selling fake goods.

Transaction Fraud is the first line of defense and operates at the transaction level (as opposed to merchant level). This product protects both the merchant and the bank from external threats (fraudulent end users). Transaction Fraud works under very challenging throughput and latency requirements, scoring and approving each payment transaction with machine learning models and rules.

Technically, this product line deals with challenges around large volume data profiling,  diverse data sources, network-like pattern detection and latency as a key non-functional requirement. These products are used directly by end users, ranging from Data Scientists to Risk Analysts.
