The SVP of Finance and Operations will lead the company's financial and operational infrastructure, scaling the business through disciplined planning and cross-functional execution. They will oversee finance, legal, compliance, and people operations while serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership.

About Us

Siftwell Analytics is a fast-growing company that combines healthcare operator expertise and artificial intelligence to equip managed care health plans with better insights to drive earlier and more precise health interventions for members. Siftwell was founded with a fundamental commitment to address the unique challenges faced by health plans, beginning with Medicaid, Marketplace, and Medicare plans, who are entrusted with the care of our most vulnerable and complex populations.

At Siftwell, we hire “Humble Killers” – individuals with a deep commitment to the mission, high ownership, and low ego. We are committed to providing a mutually respectful work environment where diversity and inclusion are critical to our success. We seek to recruit, develop, and retain talented professionals from a broad range of backgrounds, and to foster a culture where individuals can grow, contribute meaningfully, and thrive.

About the Role

As the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Finance & Operations, you will lead the operational and financial infrastructure that enables Siftwell to scale. Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the President, you will translate the company's long-term strategy into disciplined execution by advancing the company's operating model, business operations, governance, and financial infrastructure to support its next stage of growth.

As a player-coach, you will lead and develop Siftwell's Finance & Operations organization providing strategic direction and day-to-day leadership across business operations, finance, administration, legal, compliance, and people operations. You will oversee a growing team of operational leaders and partners while strengthening the company's operating model through disciplined planning, capital management, governance, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution. You will partner closely with leaders across Product, Growth, Customer Success, and People to build the capabilities, decision frameworks, and operating discipline needed to support a scaling organization.

This role is ideal for an experienced finance and operations executive who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You bring sound business judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to scale an organization while serving as a trusted thought partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.

This position is remote within the United States and operates on U.S. East Coast hours. Occasional travel is required for company meetings, leadership offsites, Board meetings, and team events. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Finance & Operations organization, establishing the systems, operating rhythms, financial discipline, and cross-functional processes that enable the company to scale effectively.

  • Lead business operations: company operating cadence, cross-functional coordination, systems and vendor management, and operational reporting.

  • Provide executive oversight of the company operating model, aligning annual and quarterly planning, budgets, headcount pacing, infrastructure investments, OKRs, KPI and SaaS-metric reporting, and Board-level financial planning with company strategy and growth priorities.

  • Oversee day-to-day legal and governance through outside counsel — corporate and financing matters, customer MSAs (in partnership with Growth), and renewals (in partnership with Customer Success) — with the President/General Counsel available for escalations.

  • Partner with the CEO and President to translate long-term strategy into executable operating plans, organizational priorities, and financial investments.

  • Champion capital efficiency across the company and serve as a disciplined counterweight in investment decisions.

  • Oversee state tax, corporate registration, and multistate regulatory compliance, including oversight of nexus analysis, foreign qualifications, state registrations, income and franchise tax obligations, annual reports, and related filings, in partnership with outside tax and legal advisors.

  • Provide executive sponsorship for People Operations in partnership with the Director of People & Talent, ensuring scalable people systems, workforce planning, compensation, and performance processes support the company's growth.

  • Sponsor compliance and information security in partnership with the fractional CISO, including SOC 2 maturity, HIPAA compliance, enterprise risk management, and AI-governance frameworks.

  • Lead board and investor operations: meeting materials, reporting cadence, and investor communications infrastructure.

  • Own capital strategy and financing: fundraising rounds and instruments (convertibles, priced equity, debt), scenario and dilution modeling, capital allocation, and runway planning, partnering with the CEO and President on fundraising strategy and execution, as well as annual 409A valuation cycle.

  • Prepare the company for corporate development: M&A readiness, diligence infrastructure, data-room discipline, and an enterprise-valuation perspective that informs strategic decisions.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required plus a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience; Master’s degree or relevant professional certification preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience spanning business operations, strategic planning, finance, and executive leadership, including experience in a senior role such as COO, VP of Finance, CFO, or equivalent within a scaling technology company.

  • Track record of building or maturing finance and operations functions, including systems, controls, planning processes, and reporting infrastructure, within a Series A–B or similarly scaled organization.

  • Experience building scalable operating systems, cross-functional planning processes, and executive operating cadences in a high-growth environment.

  • Experience managing legal matters through outside counsel, with strong working knowledge of commercial contracting.

  • Fluency in SaaS growth metrics, including ARR, net revenue retention, CAC/LTV, and burn multiple, with experience producing Board-level financial reporting.

  • Direct experience leading or supporting venture financings, including convertible instruments and priced equity rounds, with responsibility for modeling, negotiation support, and investor relations.

  • Demonstrated commitment to capital efficiency, with a track record of scaling a company responsibly.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across finance, operations, people, legal, and technology functions.

Preferred:

  • M&A experience through diligence and closing, ideally including an exit.

  • Experience in healthcare, payer markets, or another regulated-data environment (HIPAA/PHI).

  • Experience overseeing people operations and information security, including vCISO relationships and SOC 2 readiness or compliance.

  • JD degree and experience with commercial contracts in a startup environment.

  • Experience overseeing multistate tax, corporate registration, and regulatory compliance for a distributed or remote workforce.
