Description
The Senior Vice President of Finance is responsible for leading and scaling the Finance organization and serves as the senior executive overseeing financial planning and analysis, accounting, finance operations, treasury, financial governance, and business partnership activities across Blue Mantis.
This role will provide leadership to a high-performing finance team while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. The SVP of Finance will be responsible for delivering financial insight, improving decision-making, strengthening accountability, and ensuring the company has the financial discipline, processes, and infrastructure necessary to support continued growth.
The successful candidate will combine strategic financial leadership with operational excellence and will play a critical role in helping Blue Mantis execute its growth strategy and value creation objectives. The SVP of Finance will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and partner closely with leaders across the organization to improve business performance and drive results.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Finance Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the finance organization.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Controller and Director of Finance Operations.
- Build organizational depth and succession plans across the finance function.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and business partnership.
- Establish clear performance expectations and development plans for team members.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Ensure financial statements and reporting packages are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Treasury, Risk & Governance
- Lead cash management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization efforts.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial governance practices.
- Manage financial approvals and delegated authority processes.
- Support enterprise risk management initiatives and financial compliance programs.
- Ensure finance operates with a strong control environment while maintaining business agility.
Process Improvement & Scalability
- Drive automation, simplification, and process improvement initiatives across finance.
- Enhance financial systems, reporting capabilities, and data quality.
- Develop scalable processes capable of supporting continued organic and acquisition-driven growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making throughout the organization.
Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across Sales, Services, Operations, Technology, and Corporate Functions.
- Partner with executive leadership to improve financial and operational accountability.
- Support executive reporting, board preparation, lender reporting, and strategic initiatives.
- Represent the finance organization in cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects.
- Act as a proxy for the CFO/COO when appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- Previous experience as a Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller, Finance Director, Divisional CFO, or comparable senior finance leadership role.
- Proven experience leading accounting, treasury, financial operations, audit, compliance, and controllership functions.
- Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience implementing process improvements and scaling finance organizations.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Experience within a high-growth or scaling company.
- Experience in private equity-backed organizations.
- Experience in technology services, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity, software, or recurring revenue business models.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration activities.
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional credentials.
Work Environment:
- Occasional travel (approximately 10-15%)
- Office-based position; Remote possible
