Senior Product Designer (Senior Consultant, Experience & Design)
At Fearless, we are seeking a Senior Product Designer as part of our Senior Consultant, Experience & Design career path to support the modernization of a large-scale public-facing government website. In this role, you will design responsive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile. You will translate user needs, research, information architecture, and content requirements into wireframes, prototypes, page layouts, and reusable components in Figma while applying established design-system patterns. Working closely with content strategy, accessibility, research, and Drupal engineering, you will help create a consistent and implementable future-state website experience. This is a fully remote role.
At Fearless, the Senior Consultant combines expertise in Content Design, Content Strategy, Product Design, Service Design, User Research, and UX leadership. This role will possess the necessary skills at an advanced level of proficiency for setting the vision, strategy, and systems that guide cross-functional design teams in creating scalable, impactful, and user-centered solutions. The role requires a balance of strategic foresight, design mentorship, and hands-on expertise to deliver high-quality products and services that meet user, customer, and organizational needs.

Your Responsibilities in this Role:
●Lead the design of the future-state website experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile, creating intuitive and consistent experiences for diverse user needs.
●Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, page layouts, and reusable components in Figma from concept through implementation-ready design.
●Apply the Massachusetts Design System and approved Commonwealth design patterns while defining reusable patterns needed for the modernized experience.
●Translate user research, personas, journeys, information architecture, navigation, and content requirements into intuitive interface designs.
●Design reusable page types, components, and interaction patterns that can be effectively implemented and maintained within Drupal.
●Partner with Content Strategy to translate information architecture, navigation, and content organization into cohesive user experiences.
●Integrate accessibility throughout the design process in partnership with the Accessibility Lead, ensuring designs support applicable accessibility standards.
●Collaborate closely with Drupal developers to validate technical feasibility, provide implementation guidance, and maintain design consistency through development.
●Present design concepts to stakeholders, incorporate usability and customer feedback, and iteratively refine designs through approval.
●Develop and maintain Design Playbook guidance, component specifications, and developer-ready documentation to support consistent implementation and future reuse

Project Skill and Experience Requirements
●Minimum of 6 years of total relevant professional experience.
●Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
●At least 3 years supporting enterprise-wide website modernization or digital transformation initiatives, with that work occurring within the past 5 years.
●Participation in at least one government, higher education, or similarly regulated organization project.
●Involvement in the implementation or support of at least one Drupal solution hosted on AWS.
●Strong UX/UI design experience for large-scale websites or complex digital services.
●Advanced proficiency with Figma, including wireframing, interactive prototyping, reusable components, and developer-ready design specifications.
●Strong experience designing responsive, component-based experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
●Demonstrated experience applying design systems and reusable design patterns to create consistent digital experiences.
●Strong application of user-centered and accessible design principles throughout the design lifecycle.
●Experience translating user needs, information architecture, navigation, and content requirements into intuitive interface designs.
●Demonstrated ability to collaborate with developers throughout implementation to ensure design feasibility, consistency, and quality.
Preferred Experience
●Familiarity with the Massachusetts Design System or comparable government design systems.
●Background designing public-sector digital services.
●Experience designing websites implemented in Drupal.
●Knowledge and practical application of WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA requirements.
●Experience with usability testing and user research.
●Background supporting content-heavy website modernization initiatives.
●Experience developing and maintaining design playbooks or reusable component libraries

The salary range for this position is:
Minimum Salary: $96,132
Salary Midpoint: $124,971
Maximum Salary: $162,462
Hiring Range for Role: $96,132 - $130,000
*This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance criteria.
