SUMMARY
EyeCare Partners is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to be a trusted member of our Accounting and Finance team. The Senior Accountant is a member of the COGS team and is responsible for recording Cost of Goods Sold and Inventory for all lines of business. This individual will oversee timely preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, system integrations and provide critical analysis of our Cost of Goods Sold and Inventory balances and variances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform month-end close accounting operations for eye care entities including ophthalmology clinics and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with healthcare accounting standards - primary focus being Inventory/COGS
- Serve as the primary accountant for inventory reporting using PODIS (Practice Operations and Data Integration System), handling orders log, dispense log, and contaminated logs for drugs at eye care office locations
- Well versed with understanding inventory Write-up/write-down, GR-IR manual tracking
- Lead and execute the PODIS-to-SAP migration project, including data mapping for drug ordering/dispensing, chart of accounts alignment, and cutover planning across multiple eye care office locations
- Drive UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for PODIS to SAP integrations, validating data accuracy, transaction flows, and reporting outputs prior to go-live
- Prepare and deliver timely variance analysis COGS to Revenue specific to clinic and surgery center operations, by closely working with Operations and FP&A
- Maintain a strong understanding of ophthalmology business operations, including clinical workflows, surgical billing cycles, insurance reimbursements, and ASC-specific revenue and expense drivers
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and healthcare industry regulations, while identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes across clinic and surgery centers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets and other accounting software.
- Use of SAP and Power BI is a plus
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, customer service and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize and resolve variances
- Ability to multitask simultaneously and effectively prioritize work
- CPA certification is a plus
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum required: 2-5 years of relevant experience in corporate accounting
- Experience with multi-site, Healthcare businesses and/or Ambulatory Surgery Centers a plus
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office 365 and Power BI
