Samsara’s Hardware Product Managers are responsible for the end-to-end success of our IoT devices and the corresponding firmware capabilities they require. Samsara’s approach to product management is rooted in a deep understanding of the customer. We’re looking for a Product Manager to define and drive a range of advanced IoT devices, sensors and accessories that are focused on AI Safety solutions. The Safety product line is critical to the Samsara connected operations portfolio with significant visibility in the business. You’ll learn about our customers’ operations, identify the most meaningful problems that we could solve for them and understand their strategy for the future. This position can be office based or fully remote.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze support cases, market data, customer feedback, and inputs from other product team members to deliver a multi-quarter roadmap for fleet diagnostics capabilities  
  • Partner closely with firmware and hardware engineering teams to define and deliver reliable Safety solution and accessories
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • This role is only for New Graduate candidates, graduating with their MBA or MS in Engineering in Spring/Summer 2024
  • At least 1-3 years experience in a product management role, with exposure to hardware development prior to returning for their graduate degree
  • Technical fluency and familiarity with hardware and embedded systems development processes. Can establish credibility with engineers and is willing to get hands-on
  • Knack for gleaning customer insights from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Bias-to-action and hands-on experience delivering business results. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers, partners, and internal audiences

An ideal candidate has:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical fields
  • Experience with automotive or enterprise vision and/or camera solutions
  • Familiarity with B2B sales processes



Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
