AI Summary

The Sales Enablement and Field Trainer will own the Year 1 journey for new sales representatives, including curriculum design and direct field coaching. They will utilize AI tools and sales data to identify skill gaps and lead the mentor network to ensure consistent support across the organization.

At Macmillan Learning, we're committed to driving innovation that transforms education. We seek team members who thrive on pushing boundaries, envisioning future possibilities, and building solutions that make a lasting impact. Whether you're a Pioneer shaping bold new ideas, a Builder turning possibilities into reality, or a Stabilizer optimizing for success, you'll play a vital role in advancing our mission. If you're excited by the prospect of testing new technologies, implementing transformative strategies, and thriving in a fast-paced, innovative environment, we'd love to hear from you!

New sales reps do their best work when someone is in their corner from day one. That's this role. As our Sales Enablement and Field Trainer, reporting to the VP of Sales, you'll own the entire Year 1 Journey for new reps, from onboarding through their first year of ramp. You'll spend time in the field coaching reps directly, build and evolve the curriculum they learn from, and use sales data and AI tools to catch skill gaps before they become bigger problems. You'll also lead our mentor network so every new rep gets consistent, reliable support, not just whatever their assigned mentor happens to offer. It's a role built for someone who wants to shape how a whole cohort of reps ramps into success, not just coach one person at a time.

We know some talented people hesitate to apply when they don't check every box on a list. If this role has you excited and you believe you could do the work well, we want to hear from you, even if your path here doesn't match every requirement exactly. We're looking for people who care about our mission and bring their own perspective to the table. Different backgrounds, skills, and ways of working make us better at what we do. If this opportunity speaks to you, tell us how your experience and abilities could add value here. We want Macmillan Learning to be a place where everyone can do their best work and where different viewpoints are genuinely welcome, so if you're a qualified candidate, we hope you'll apply. We're looking forward to learning what you'd bring to the team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You'll coach new reps in the field, spending on-campus time observing their progress and building personalized growth plans
  • You'll own the Year 1 Journey end to end, designing and continuously updating the training reps experience from day one through their first year, sequenced against the academic buying cycle
  • You'll use AI tools and sales activity data to spot skill gaps and trends across the org, then turn those findings into just-in-time training content
  • You'll lead the mentor program, coaching mentors so every new rep gets consistent support, and coordinating regular mentor calls
  • You'll own product and skills certification standards in partnership with L&D and Product Marketing
  • You'll partner closely with Regional Managers, staying in ongoing communication about each new rep's progress and development
  • You'll serve as the org's go-to expert on sales enablement tools and how they should be used at Macmillan

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 3-5+ years of experience in sales, sales training, or sales enablement, ideally in EdTech, publishing, or SaaS
  • A track record of successfully coaching or ramping new sales talent
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and driving adoption of sales enablement tools
  • Working knowledge of AI tools for content creation, data analysis, or learning personalization
  • Experience building or delivering structured training curricula, ideally grounded in learning science or instructional design
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working across L&D, Regional Managers, mentors, and Product Marketing
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and sales enablement tooling
  • A college degree
  • Comfort with heavy travel and in-territory field work
