About Tivly

Tivly is one of the largest marketplaces for commercial insurance in the United States, connecting business owners looking to protect their businesses with insurance carriers that fit their needs. Since 2009, Tivly has established a network of over 200 trusted carriers, agents, and brokers serving a wide range of businesses.

About the Role

Tivly connects business owners actively shopping for commercial insurance coverage with the right agents to serve them - starting with a weekly educational webinar. We're looking for an Outbound SDR to reach those decision-makers and get them in the room.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys talking to people, likes having a clear process to work within, and wants to build a sales career from the ground up. You don't need industry experience. You don't need a specific degree. And while previous sales experience is helpful, we're more interested in how you work.

We're looking for someone who is curious, coachable, organized, comfortable picking up the phone, and motivated enough to own their day.

You'll join an established outbound motion with prospect lists, CRM note templates, an AI-powered resource hub, and training already in place. Your job is to learn the system, execute it consistently, and help us identify ways to make it even better.

What You’ll Do

  • Make 100–150 outbound calls per day to prospective leads
  • Reach and engage decision-makers over the phone
  • Invite and secure commitments from qualified prospects to attend our weekly webinar
  • Follow established outreach cadences and call frameworks - this role is not about pitching or presenting; it's about consistent, disciplined booking
  • Personalize CRM notes using approved templates, updating variables per conversation
  • Use our AI chatbot and resource hub as your first line of support for questions, keeping downtime low
  • Maintain accurate records of every call, outcome, and next step in the CRM
  • Surface patterns, objections, and prospect feedback to sales leadership
  • Participate in regular 1:1 coaching focused on development and performance
  • Adapt as messaging and workflows evolve based on what we're learning

Technology You'll Use

This is a systems-driven role supported by AI-assisted tools, so baseline technology comfort is important. You should be comfortable with:

  • CRM systems and accurate data entry
  • Professional email and calendar management
  • AI-powered support/chatbot tools
  • Browser-based applications, working across multiple systems
  • Video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar)

Experience with automation or workflow tools such as Zapier is a plus, but not required. More important: you're comfortable learning new technology and troubleshooting basic issues independently.

What You Bring

Previous experience in any of the following is helpful, but not required:

  • Business Development / Sales Development
  • Inside or outbound sales
  • Lead generation or appointment setting
  • Customer service with a strong communication component

We believe sales skills can be taught. We're more interested in finding someone with the aptitude, work habits, and hunger to learn them.

Core Competencies

There isn't one personality type that makes a great SDR. We're looking for someone who can stay consistent through high call volume and real rejection, call after call.

For this role, there are a few things we consider essential:

  • Hungry: Genuinely motivated by the idea that your results determine your earnings
  • Coachable: You welcome feedback and put it into practice
  • Curious: You ask questions and want to understand the "why"
  • Resilient: You can handle repeated "no's" without losing energy or focus
  • Detail-oriented: You understand that good CRM data and documentation matter
  • Consistent: You're comfortable with the repetition required to get great at outbound
  • Disciplined: You can follow a defined process closely before trying to reinvent it
  • Comfortable on the phone: Outbound calling is the core of this position

How You'll Work

You'll receive structured onboarding, along with:

  • Targeted prospect lists
  • CRM note templates
  • Call frameworks
  • An AI-powered resource hub for first-line support
  • Direct coaching

You'll be expected to work within our established process while sharing what you're hearing from prospects. As you develop, we want you to become someone who helps us improve the system — not simply operate it.

Where This Role Can Lead

This position is a starting point, not a ceiling. As you demonstrate mastery and take on greater responsibility, there's real opportunity for advancement — including into roles such as:

  • Inside Sales Representative
  • Webinar hosting and presentations
  • Onboarding Specialist

Compensation grows alongside responsibility as you take on more. There's no fixed timeline for this - it's earned through demonstrated performance, not tenure.

How You're Paid

You'll earn a base salary of $45,000  plus commission. Commission is tied to converted webinar attendees - leads you book who attend and go on to become clients - not to sign-ups or attendance alone. This keeps your incentives aligned with real business outcomes, not just activity.

Benefits

We support our team with comprehensive benefits that promote health, balance, and financial well‑being, including:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Sick Time
  • Flexible Scheduling (Flex Time)
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for health and dependent care
  • Company‑paid Short‑ and Long‑Term Disability
  • No‑cost mental, emotional, and physical well‑being support through the First Stop Health app
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Pay for designated holidays without having to work

Why Tivly?

You'll be joining a sales organization that believes good systems should make great people better. We're not hiring someone to reinvent our outbound strategy on day one. We're looking for someone who can learn what's already working, execute it consistently, ask good questions, and eventually help us make it better.

If you like clear expectations, meaningful autonomy, direct coaching, and the opportunity to grow as you prove yourself, we'd like to hear from you.

Inclusion: It's Simple, We All Belong

Tivly celebrates diversity and equality! We are committed to building a team with a diverse variety of experiences, talents, and perspectives. We believe that creating a culture where everyone can fit in and belong has a positive influence on our communities and our customers. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. Creating a culture of equality isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s what Tivly chooses to do.
