The National Sales Manager will drive growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts for Machine Automation Solutions. They will build strategic client relationships, execute winning sales strategies, and ensure world-class customer service across the UK and Ireland.
The National Sales Manager UK & Ireland will be responsible for driving growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts for Emerson’s Machine Automation Solutions (MAS). This role demands a proactive, growth oriented mindset and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity while delivering world-class customer service. The successful candidate will leverage the full MAS portfolio to penetrate new markets, build strategic relationships, and execute winning strategies. While not essential, an understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and/or Information Technology (IT) is advantageous. This position offers excellent scope for career advancement within a high-performance sales culture.
This is a fully remote based role and the successful candidate can reside anywhere across the UK or Ireland.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by winning new business and growing existing accounts in line with the area plan.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including emerging markets, new clients, and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business drivers and delivering tailored solutions that create long term value.
- Demonstrate agility and resilience in navigating ambiguity and complex decision-making environments.
- Deliver world-class customer experiences through responsiveness, consultative engagement, and solution-oriented selling.
- Collaborate effectively across business units and functions to maximize opportunities and align with strategic objectives.
- Actively contributes to building a high-performance sales culture through accountability, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Utilize sales processes and tools effectively, including Solution Selling, Account Plans, CRM (Salesforce), and structured negotiation techniques.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, booking data, and monthly forecast updates throughout the fiscal year.
- Develop a strong understanding of MAS products, competitive landscape, and industry positioning to maximize success.

- Proven sales hunter mindset with a track record of driving growth and winning in competitive markets.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed ambitious sales targets in automation and industrial software within a B2B environment.
- Evidence of securing new business and building long-term strategic relationships with customers.
- Experienced in project, solution, and service contract selling with a consultative approach.
- Understanding of Edge, IoT, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Full, clean driving license, with full flexibility to travel
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Strong preference for prior experience in automation sales, especially with PLC, IPC, and SCADA platforms.
- Experience of working within a Matrix environment.
