POSITION SUMMARY:

Viking is seeking a self-motivated Municipal/Industrial Sales Representative to join our growing team and manage a sales territory covering Louisiana and East Texas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, engineers, utilities, and industrial customers to promote Viking’s water tank maintenance, inspection, and coating services.
  • Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities from initial contact through project award.
  • Prospect for new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, industry research, and other business development activities.
  • Take ownership of the assigned territory by developing and maintaining a strategic weekly and monthly sales itinerary focused on customer relationships, new opportunities, and revenue growth.
  • Conduct customer visits, water tank assessments, and inspections as needed to identify maintenance needs and develop project opportunities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through consistent follow-up, inspection report delivery, project communication, and ongoing customer support.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and other customer-facing materials.
  • Attend and present at city council meetings to communicate project recommendations and secure approvals.
  • Work closely with Viking’s Operations team to ensure projects are effectively transitioned and delivered in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, networking events, and other business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer, opportunity, and sales information within the CRM system.
  • Prepare sales documentation, expense reports, proposals, and other administrative materials as required.
  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and strengthen Viking’s position within the territory.
  • Manage the territory strategically to maximize sales performance, develop long-term customer relationships, and achieve established sales goals.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven sales experience required; municipal, industrial, construction, infrastructure, or related B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Experience selling to municipalities, utilities, or industrial customers is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout Louisiana and East Texas, including overnight travel and occasional out-of-state travel for customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and company events.
