WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Manager, Executive Support & Operations is a key leader within Teach For America South Carolina (TFASC), assisting the Executive Director to effectively implement her regional vision while supporting external marketing and fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where he or she manages multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Executive Support (25%) 

  • Provide administrative, scheduling, and communications support to the Executive Director, ensuring she is maximizing her time leading the region 

  • Coordinate travel arrangements, draft communications, and manage follow-up on behalf of the Executive Director to ensure deadlines are met and priorities are advanced

  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Executive Director 

Fundraising & Advisory Board (25%)

  • Project manage key fundraising initiatives on behalf of the region; partner with central development teammates to ideate, plan, and execute high-quality fundraising projects

  • Design and develop fundraising collateral and content for campaigns, such as pitch decks, newsletters, case for support narratives, one pagers, and other compelling collateral to support donor engagement and fundraising events

  • Consistently maintain donor, prospect, and fundraising activity information in our customer relationship management system (currently SalesForce) and leverage this information to track progress, monitor gaps, and adjust strategy and approach

  • Support the South Carolina ED and Chief of Staff in the management of the South Carolina Advisory Board, including meeting preparation, member cultivation, and enabling board members in their fundraising efforts (drafting outreach language, creating event collateral and other materials to support their fundraising communications)

Marketing & Communications (25%)

  • Create and execute social media calendar in alignment with regional goals and storytelling

  • Partner with program teams to identify and elevate inspirational stories across our network; create engaging content across all social media channels aligned with TFA’s brand standards and guidelines

  • Create newsletters for external audiences in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including network newsletter and alumni newsletter; monitor newsletter engagement and adjust approach as needed 

Regional Operations Support (25%)

  • Provide operational support to the region, including team meetings and retreats, scheduling, and network events

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

As the Manager, Executive Support & Operations, no two days look the same! In the course of a week, you may communicate with external partners on behalf of the Executive Director or create a one-pager with bios and tactical information for her upcoming meetings. You may meet with program leads to identify new stories to highlight across our social media channels, and may even make a visit to a school site to capture content in-person. You may meet with partners on the development team to track progress for a fundraising strategy you’re leading this year or design a new one pager for the Executive Director to take to a potential donor. 

YOUR EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least two years of relevant experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends 

  • Ability to occasionally travel within South Carolina

  • Strong resourcefulness and self-management skills

  • Ability to build authentic relationships with various stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Previous experience creating marketing materials 

  • Previous experience directly or laterally managing others to strong outcomes

  • High level of integrity and discretion 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous fundraising experience preferred 

  • Special consideration given to Teach For America alumni

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
