We are currently seeking a skilled Human Resources Director to join our dynamic women-owned health and science communications and events planning company. Director of Human Resources is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the HR function, including but not limited to the following: employment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, training and development, policy development and implementation. In this position you will develop, implement, train, and advise all management in Human Resources policies, processes, and procedures and ensure full compliance with all applicable federal and state employment regulations. Essential Job Functions (What you'll do): Planning, organizing and controlling all activities of the HR department. Developing and administering various human resources plans and procedures for all company employees, participating in development goals, objectives and systems. Implementing the company's performance evaluation and feedback system. Developing, recommending, and implementing HR policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining the employee handbook. Performing benefit administration to include invoice approval and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness. Developing and maintaining affirmative action program, filing annually, maintaining a corporate plan and other records and reports to conform to EEO regulations. Developing and implementing a strategic recruitment plan, ensuring selection of highly qualified personnel, providing support and guidance to hiring managers. Establishing and maintaining department records and reports; recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department. Managing and fully participating in HR/Payroll system assessment and implementation; providing training to end users as applicable. Developing training initiatives aligned with the business objectives of the organization to include various compliance topics as well as leadership development training. Education and Experience Required Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, SPHR/PHR highly preferred Experience: Minimum of 8 years of HR management experience, with hands-on experience developing and implementing all HR operational functions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Leadership Skills: Exceptional project management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment. Recruitment Skills: Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining diverse talent, including creating and implementing recruitment strategies Expertise: Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations. Technology Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential, along with background in setting up and implementing HR information systems and tools. Professional Qualities: Excellent attention to detail, multitasking, prioritizing, and independent working abilities. Extraordinary discretion, flexibility and ability to work with the senior management team. Mindset: A positive, solutions-oriented attitude, adaptable to various tasks.
