Job Description

The Supply Chain Specialist plays a key role in ensuring critical supplier parts are available to support production and operational needs. This fully remote position focuses on improving material visibility, coordinating closely with procurement and operations, and proactively resolving issues that impact build schedules and delivery commitments. The role requires strong coordination, data tracking, and communication skills to drive timely resolution of part-related problems and enhance overall supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

• Interface daily with supply chain managers, operations teams, and value stream leaders to understand and prioritize critical supplier parts based on business and site needs.
• Work directly with the procurement team to escalate part issues, obtain supplier commitments, and update SAP Mismatch tools and internal tracking files.
• Collaborate with procurement to identify opportunities to improve supplier schedules so they align with material requirements planning (MRP) needs, and regularly report status to operations and supply chain managers.
• Improve visibility into material availability by maintaining accurate data in SAP and internal tracking tools.
• Receive inputs from supply chain managers and operations on priority parts, confirm supplier commitments, and enter updated information into SAP and tracking files.
• Communicate daily with operations and supply chain personnel to convey the status of critical parts and highlight risks or changes.
• Clear internal obstacles to ensure parts move through approval processes, including quality inspections, first article reviews, and engineering changes.
• Attend weekly working-level supply chain, site, and business unit meetings to provide detailed part status updates and support ongoing initiatives.
• Support the broader supply chain team by managing the RAIL, and updating EPS and ECS presentations with accurate and timely information.
• Manage ship commitments spreadsheets against demand and overdue items to ensure alignment between supply and requirements.
• Obtain updated information on second and third source suppliers, record these details, and drive open actions to strengthen supply continuity.
• Track down quality notifications (QN’s), supplier-related issues (SRI’s), and first article inspections (FAI’s), and drive actions to resolve them.
• Chart the processing time of open SRI’s, scale their priority levels, and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
• Provide ongoing support to the supply chain team and other stakeholders on smaller actions and ad hoc tasks.
• Improve turnaround time for resolving problem parts by proactively coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Expand proactive identification of risks impacting line replaceable unit (LRU) builds and escalate concerns as needed.
• Streamline communication processes to enhance clarity, reduce delays, and improve overall efficiency across the supply chain.
• Leverage data tracking tools to improve reporting accuracy, enhance forecasting, and support better decision-making.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with procurement and supply chain functions, with the ability to understand supplier commitments and material requirements.
• Strong customer service mindset with the ability to support internal stakeholders and respond promptly to part-related inquiries.
• Proficiency in data entry and maintaining accurate records in tracking tools and enterprise systems such as SAP.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with operations and supply chain personnel on a daily basis.
• Skill in identifying and escalating part issues and coordinating resolution across multiple teams.
• Capability to manage and update spreadsheets and tracking files, including ship commitments and material status reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for managing material and supplier data.
• Experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments is beneficial.
• Comfort working with multiple data tracking tools and presentations, including EPS and ECS formats.
• Ability to analyze processing times and prioritize issues based on risk and impact.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple actions and follow-ups simultaneously.
• Attention to detail when tracking quality notifications, supplier issues, and first article inspections.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, offering the opportunity to support a large, complex aerospace-focused supply chain from any suitable location. Work is primarily performed using digital tools such as SAP, spreadsheets, and data tracking platforms, with frequent virtual meetings and daily communication with supply chain, procurement, and operations teams. The position involves a structured yet dynamic environment where priorities can shift based on material availability and production needs, requiring responsiveness, clear communication, and effective collaboration across distributed teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Windsor Locks, CT.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
