The Finance Engineer redesigns how the CFO organization works, and builds the systems that make it happen.
The mandate covers every process we run: contract to cash, payables and procurement, reconciliations, and the monthly close. In each one you will sit with the person who owns the process, redesign it, build the automation, and stand it up where the team can actually use it. You will work across Accounting, Finance, Revenue and Billing, Deal Desk, Legal, Procurement, and Corporate Development.
The first focus area is contract to cash: a quote in Salesforce CPQ, through Deal Desk approval and a signed contract, into NetSuite and Zone Advanced Billing, out as an invoice, and back as collected cash. It runs across several systems and several teams, which is exactly where the leverage is. The close, reconciliations, and payables come next, and the same approach applies to each.
You will own our NetSuite OneWorld environment: configuration, workflows, and the role and permission design behind who can see, do, and approve what. Salesforce sits with another team, and the underlying platform, integration, and security layers sit with Business Technology. You will work with those teams where their systems meet NetSuite, which is where most of the interesting problems live.
This is a finance person who ships. Someone who knows why the close slips and where order-to-cash breaks, and who has taught themselves to build the fix rather than file a ticket for it. The output of this role is running software and changed process. Not recommendations, not slide decks, and not prototypes that only work on one laptop.
Own contract to cash end to end
Map the full path from quote to collected cash across Salesforce CPQ, Deal Desk approvals, the contract stack, NetSuite, Zone Advanced Billing, and collections, and find the highest-leverage places to automate
Work with the Salesforce and Business Technology owners to tighten the flow between Salesforce and NetSuite so bookings, orders, and billing data move straight through
Partner with the process owner to redesign deal structuring, approval routing, order booking, invoicing, and collections workflows, then build the automation that runs them
Partner with Deal Desk on quote-to-cash process and with Legal on contract workflow, so terms land in the systems downstream the way they were negotiated
Build reporting and controls into the path so revenue, billing, and AR data are trustworthy by construction
Automate the close, payables, and procurement
Work with Accounting and Revenue and Billing to compress the close: reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition support, and the reporting package
Drive the same process work through procure-to-pay: purchasing, vendor onboarding, invoice capture and matching, expense, and spend categorization. We are implementing Zip to replace Bill.com, and you will help land it
Design AI workflows that draft, check, and flag rather than silently decide, with a human in the loop where the risk warrants it
Be the quality gate on AI output. Know how to tell whether what a model produces is right before it reaches a finance stakeholder, and build the checks that keep it that way
Own the finance systems stack
Own the health of the NetSuite OneWorld environment: configuration, workflows, saved searches, and core order-to-cash, including Zone Advanced Billing and Avalara
Design and maintain the NetSuite role catalog: what a revenue accountant, a billing specialist, or a deal desk analyst can see, do, and approve, by role and by entity across our US, India, Canada, and Luxembourg subsidiaries
Own NetSuite user provisioning and access against that catalog, inside our change process, with access independently reviewed on a regular cycle
Serve as the go-to expert on the finance side of the stack: Zone Advanced Billing, Avalara, Brex, Bill.com, the contract stack, and procurement tooling
Understand deeply how data moves between these systems, from Salesforce into NetSuite and from NetSuite into Pigment, our planning platform, and partner with the teams who own each one on the integration work that makes it move
Balance short-term and long-term tradeoffs between sophistication and speed, and surface cross-functional process and system impacts before they become fire drills
Own a solution roadmap across these functions, sequence it, and manage delivery against it
Build like an engineer
Stand up internal applications other people actually use: authenticated, hosted, shared, and durable after you move on
Work fluently in Claude and agentic coding tooling, with version control, and know when a problem calls for something lighter
Write, read, and debug code rather than trusting what a model hands you
Everything you build runs on company infrastructure, in company repositories, under company credentials, documented well enough that someone else could pick it up
Bring the team with you
Raise the build capability of the people already here. Several members of our team are building with Claude today, and that number should grow because of this role
Contribute training content and clear documentation, and teach non-technical finance and operations users to build for themselves
Partner effectively with stakeholders at every level, from analysts to the CFO
Required
Deep working knowledge of how a quote-to-cash or contract-to-cash process runs end to end across a CRM and an ERP, including the touchpoints between upstream systems and the ERP and where they typically break
7+ years hands-on with NetSuite OneWorld, including configuration, workflows, saved searches, Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), and order-to-cash, in a multi-subsidiary environment
Working knowledge of Salesforce, ideally CPQ, and of how CRM data flows into an ERP. You will not own or administer Salesforce, but you do need to be credible on both sides of that handoff
8+ years across finance, accounting, or finance systems, including at least three years in-house inside a finance organization rather than consulting to one. You have owned a process end to end and lived with the consequences when it broke
A track record of automating finance and operations work through scripting, integrations, reporting pipelines, or workflow automation
A proven track record designing and deploying LLM-powered workflows or agentic systems that other people depend on. We will judge this on what you have built and how recently, not on years claimed. Expect to walk us through two or three of them in detail
Demonstrated ability to build and deploy applications other people use. Not a prototype on your laptop. Bring a URL
Code literacy: SuiteScript or JavaScript, SQL, and comfort working in a terminal with version control. You do not need to have shipped production software for a living, but you do need to read and debug what you build
Working knowledge of accounting principles, GL structure, and the financial close, and fluency in how a billing cycle and collections actually run. You do not need to be an accountant, but you do need to understand what you are automating and why the controls exist
Experience designing and administering roles, permissions, and entity-level restrictions in a financial system, and comfort operating inside an access review and audit process
Strong program and project management: able to formulate a solution roadmap across several functions and manage delivery against it
Able to take a loosely defined problem, set your own priorities, and drive it to completion
Able to teach. You will make other people better at this, not just do it yourself
Preferred
Claude Code, MCP, and agent or skill patterns specifically
Python
Familiarity with integration platforms such as Boomi or Workato
Familiarity with a planning platform such as Pigment, Anaplan, or Adaptive, and how ERP data feeds it
NetSuite Fixed Assets
Experience with a billing, AP, or procure-to-pay platform implementation, or a quote-to-cash build
NetSuite certifications: SuiteFoundation, Administrator, SuiteCloud Developer, or ERP Consultant
Exposure to SOX, IT general controls, external audit, or public-company readiness
Private markets, fintech, fund administration, or another business combining software and services
