A well-established international manufacturer in the workplace safety sector is seeking an experienced European Sales Manager to lead business growth across the region through distribution and channel. This is a high-impact commercial role focused on new business development, distributor management and channel engagement, with responsibility for building market share across multiple European territories.

This position will suit a strategic, hands-on sales leader who enjoys developing routes to market, opening new accounts and working closely with channel partners to deliver profitable growth. You will operate remotely from a European base and play a central role in shaping the sales strategy for the region.

The role

You will be responsible for driving profitable growth across Europe by identifying new distributors, building strong end-user relationships and developing a clear territory strategy. Working closely with internal sales, product specialists and marketing, you will help expand market reach, support new product introductions and contribute to wider commercial planning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering new business sales growth across the European territory.
• Identifying, onboarding and managing regional and specialist channel partners.
• Developing and implementing short-, medium- and long-term sales plans.
• Managing key KPIs including new business sales, order intake and gross margin.
• Building relationships with distributors, agents and end users.
• Supporting joint customer visits and helping distributors improve sales performance.
• Driving product introductions through targeted end-user and channel activity.
• Researching market trends, competitor activity and growth opportunities.
• Preparing forecasts, pipeline updates and sales plans.
• Representing the business at industry events, exhibitions and customer meetings.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to support regional growth.

About you

You will bring significant commercial experience in sales, territory management or business development, ideally within a multi-channel, technical or industrial environment. You will be confident operating across different markets and cultures, with the ability to build trust quickly and develop strong long-term relationships.

Essential experience

• Degree-level education in a relevant field, ideally business-related.
• 10+ years’ proven sales success, with substantial territory sales management experience.
• Experience in a multi-channel sales environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% of the time.

Desirable attributes

• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Confident communicator with excellent networking skills.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working with Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI or similar tools.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, metrics-led environment.
• Experience leading or supporting sales process improvement would be an advantage.
• Background in a privately owned or growth-focused business would be beneficial.
