We are in search of a Director of Portal and App Engineering to spearhead our dedicated engineering team, focusing on the development and continuous enhancement of web portals and mobile applications. With a strong foundation in AWS, expertise in React, JavaScript, Ruby and .NET frameworks, and a commitment to agile methodologies, the ideal candidate will drive the delivery of software solutions. This role demands a visionary leader capable of fostering innovation, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and championing change to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities- Lead the strategy, development, and optimization of web portal and mobile app projects, ensuring they meet high standards for scalability, usability, security, and outstanding UI/UX design.
- Cultivate an agile development environment, emphasizing rapid iteration, continuous delivery, and high-quality outputs.
- Demonstrate expertise in software architecture and design, leading the creation of scalable, maintainable, and efficient systems. Ensuring projects reflect best practices in usability, performance, and security.
- Conduct regular code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality, encourage best practices among team members, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Enhance collaboration across technology teams and with business stakeholders to align development efforts with organizational goals and user needs.
- Empower your team to adopt a critical thinking approach for creative problem solving, encouraging innovation and the exploration of new technologies or methodologies.
- Implement and oversee a robust DevOps culture, streamlining deployment processes, improving infrastructure reliability, and ensuring seamless integration and delivery pipelines to support continuous development and deployment.
- Serve as a proactive agent for change within the organization, identifying opportunities for technological and process enhancements.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Formulate and execute strategic plans for the engineering department to address future technology and business requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a significant leadership role in web and mobile application development.
- Expert level knowledge of AWS cloud services, with hands-on experience in Ruby, .NET, React, JavaScript and PostgreSQL databases.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex web portal and mobile app projects, with a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to lead agile teams, with extensive use of Jira for sprint planning, tracking, and execution of software development projects.
- Experience in integrating cross-functional workflows and ensuring cohesive collaboration between engineering teams and other business units.
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles and the technology stack, including proficiency in React, JavaScript, Ruby, .NET, AWS services, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Expertise in agile project management, specifically using Jira for sprint planning, backlog management, and agile reporting.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to inspire innovation and maintain high productivity in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities, with a track record of implementing creative technology solutions to complex challenges.
