About The Giving Table

The Giving Table (TGT) brings together senior fundraising and marketing leaders from growth-minded nonprofits through thoughtfully curated peer groups. It offers C-suite leaders, Vice Presidents, and Directors a private space to bring their authentic selves to the table and openly discuss the personal and professional realities of nonprofit leadership.

Conversations may cover rising acquisition costs, board expectations, the impact of AI, donor lifetime value, attribution challenges, and the realities of leading through change. The topics vary, but the purpose remains the same: creating a trusted community where nonprofit leaders can learn from and support one another.

The Giving Table currently hosts gatherings in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.

About the Role

We are looking for a relationship builder who fills the room and understands that the best business development often begins with trust, hospitality, and meaningful conversation.

As Director of Membership, you will own the full membership journey for The Giving Table. You will strengthen our prospect list, connect with the right leaders, extend thoughtful invitations, and determine who will be the best fit for each peer group.

Once members join, you will continue building those relationships, gradually moving each person from an initial introduction toward a broader commercial conversation with Delve Deeper when the timing is right.

You may be a Business Development Representative with a hospitality background or an events leader who has always understood that the real work is building relationships and generating revenue. Either way, you know how to make senior leaders feel welcome while maintaining a clear focus on growth and results.

You will report to the leader of The Giving Table and work closely with Delve Deeper’s marketing and client services teams.

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain a highly targeted prospect list of Chief Development Officers, Chief Marketing Officers, Vice Presidents of Fundraising, Vice Presidents of Marketing, and other senior leaders at midsize and large nonprofits across the United States.
  • Grow membership in The Giving Table’s current markets, including New York City, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.
  • Develop thoughtful, personalized outreach that reflects a genuine understanding of each prospect and their organization.
  • Leverage warm introductions, trusted industry relationships, and consistent follow-up to engage prospective members.
  • Curate peer groups of approximately seven to ten members, ensuring the right mix of organizations, cause areas, perspectives, and leadership experiences without placing direct competitors at the same table.
  • Own the member experience from initial invitation through attendance, including outreach, confirmations, restaurant selection, menu coordination, and other event logistics.
  • Attend select Giving Table dinners and events as a representative of Delve Deeper, strengthening relationships with members and ensuring a thoughtful, high-touch experience.
  • Work closely with our support team to manage invitations and RSVPs, keep prospect and member information current in HubSpot, and provide weekly pipeline reports.
  • Collaborate with internal hosts and facilitators to coordinate dinners, half-day sessions, off-sites, and salon-style conversations.
  • Work toward quarterly goals related to accepted members, event attendance, and membership growth.
  • Build referral networks by creating an experience members genuinely want to share with other leaders in their communities.
  • Develop relationships with the consultants, agencies, associations, and platform partners that serve the nonprofit fundraising community.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce engaged members to Delve Deeper’s client services team when the timing and need are right, without forcing the conversation.

Who You Are

  • You have at least three years of experience organizing high-touch development or relationship-building events for nonprofits, such as donor cultivation dinners, galas, advisory councils, major-gift roundtables, or capital campaign events. Comparable experience involving senior leaders in small, premium settings will also be considered.
  • You have existing relationships within the nonprofit sector, particularly with senior fundraising and marketing leaders, or you have successfully built a meaningful professional network from the ground up.
  • You understand the dual nature of this role. You care deeply about the quality of the experience, but you also recognize that the work must support measurable membership and commercial outcomes.
  • You bring strong business development instincts. You think in terms of pipelines, follow up consistently, and remain accountable to your goals.
  • You understand that the fortune is in the follow-up and know how to use HubSpot or a similar CRM to manage prospects, track activity, and maintain accurate reporting.
  • You are a thoughtful and persuasive written and verbal communicator who knows how to connect with a senior executive audience.
  • You are comfortable using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other prospecting tools to research and engage prospective members.
  • You stay informed about nonprofit fundraising and marketing trends and can confidently participate in conversations about topics such as iROI, donor lifetime value, CRM hygiene, acquisition costs, and attribution.
  • You exercise sound judgment and know how to build relationships without making interactions feel forced or transactional.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a nonprofit organization, ideally in development, fundraising, or marketing.
  • Experience hosting or supporting an executive peer group, mastermind, or invitation-only event series, such as YPO, Vistage, Chief, EO Forum, or a similar organization.
  • An established presence within professional fundraising communities such as AFP, NTEN, Bridge, Nonprofit Tech for Good, or Fundraising.AI.
