Position Summary

MDI NetworX is seeking a Director, Finance to lead the company's finance function, with responsibility for financial operations, accounting, reporting, close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, audit support, financial compliance, and oversight of offshore-supported Finance operations.

Reporting to the COO, this leader will balance strategic financial planning and decision support with disciplined oversight of day-to-day financial operations performed by onshore and offshore resources. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting and financial management expertise with the ability to build scalable processes, controls, documentation, and service expectations in a multi-shore operating model.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee core financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight in partnership with the COO.
• Support internal and external audit processes and ensure ongoing financial compliance.
• Maintain appropriate financial controls, reconciliations, reporting processes, and documentation to support accurate and reliable financial information.
• Serve as the primary point of oversight for offshore finance support staff, ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to defined service levels.
• Develop and maintain clear finance process documentation and playbooks to enable effective delegation of routine and transactional finance tasks to the offshore team.
• Determine, in partnership with the COO, which finance functions are well-suited for offshore delivery versus those that should remain onshore.
• Ensure offshore handling of sensitive financial data, including payroll-related financial information, banking data, and other confidential records, meets MDI's data security and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive Finance or Accounting experience, including experience at a director or senior manager level.
• Experience managing offshore, outsourced, or distributed teams, ideally within a multi-shore delivery model.
• Strong working knowledge of core accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms.
• Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight.
• Strong process design and documentation skills, with demonstrated ability to build playbooks that enable effective task delegation.
• Excellent judgment and discretion in handling sensitive financial and employee-related financial information.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person collaboration, given the hybrid work arrangement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or B2B services industries.
• CPA, or progress toward CPA certification.
• Experience building a Finance shared-services or offshore support model from the ground up.
• MBA, master's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent advanced degree.

• Finance operations run smoothly with clear, well-documented delegation between onshore and offshore teams.
• Financial compliance and control risks are proactively identified and managed.
• The offshore finance support team consistently meets defined quality, productivity, and service-level standards.
• Month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow visibility, and financial accuracy improve measurably as the finance function matures.
