Business Development Manager — Title Insurance

Location: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania & Florida
Industry: Title Insurance / Real Estate
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to grow our title insurance business across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

This role is responsible for developing new referral relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, and generating new title and settlement business. The ideal candidate is a confident relationship builder who understands the real estate transaction and knows how to turn relationships into consistent business.

You will represent the company in the marketplace and work closely with our title, closing, and operations teams to ensure a high-quality client experience from order opening through closing.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Develop and execute strategies to generate new title insurance and settlement business.

  • Build and maintain relationships with real estate attorneys, real estate agents, brokers, lenders, mortgage professionals, investors, developers, and other industry professionals.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within NJ, NY, PA, and FL.

  • Conduct regular in-person and virtual meetings with referral partners.

  • Attend networking events, industry functions, conferences, closings, and other business development opportunities.

  • Generate referrals and consistently meet established business development goals.

  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, opportunities, and referral relationships.

  • Follow up consistently with prospects and existing clients to convert opportunities into transactions.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for referral partners and help ensure an exceptional client experience.

  • Strengthen existing relationships and identify opportunities to expand business with current partners.

  • Educate referral partners about the company's title, settlement, closing, and related services.

  • Proactively communicate with clients and referral sources throughout the transaction when appropriate.

  • Develop long-term relationships rather than relying solely on transactional sales.

Market Development

  • Identify emerging markets, geographic opportunities, and potential referral sources.

  • Research competitors, market trends, and local real estate activity.

  • Help develop targeted marketing and outreach campaigns.

  • Collaborate with leadership and marketing to create events, educational opportunities, and relationship-building initiatives.

  • Provide feedback from the marketplace to help improve services and identify new opportunities.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with title examiners, closers, processors, and management to ensure business generated is handled efficiently and professionally.

  • Communicate client expectations and important relationship information to the appropriate internal teams.

  • Help resolve client concerns and escalate issues when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate records of business development activity and opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in title insurance, real estate, mortgage, settlement services, legal services, or a related industry preferred.

  • Proven business development, sales, or relationship-management experience.

  • Existing relationships within the real estate industry strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of title insurance and the real estate closing process preferred.

  • Strong communication, presentation, networking, and follow-up skills.

  • Highly organized and self-motivated.

  • Comfortable working independently and managing a territory.

  • Professional, personable, and confident when meeting with attorneys and other industry professionals.

  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned markets for meetings and networking events.

  • Ability to develop relationships at both the individual and organizational level.

  • Strong understanding of the importance of responsiveness, accuracy, and client service in the title business.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position will be measured by the ability to:

  • Consistently generate new title orders and revenue.

  • Develop a strong pipeline of prospective referral partners.

  • Establish and deepen relationships with attorneys, agents, lenders, investors, and developers.

  • Increase repeat and referral business.

  • Expand the company's presence in target markets.

  • Represent the company professionally and create a strong reputation in the real estate community.

  • Work collaboratively with operations to ensure the business generated results in a positive client experience.

Compensation

Competitive base salary + performance-based compensation/commission, with an opportunity for significant growth based on new business generated.

Additional benefits and company incentives may be available based on position and experience.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join a growing title operation where relationships, responsiveness, and client experience matter. The Business Development Manager will have the opportunity to help shape market growth rather than simply work from an established sales territory.

If you are someone who enjoys meeting people, building genuine relationships, creating opportunities, and turning those relationships into long-term business, we want to hear from you.

Flexible work from home options available.
