Centering Healthcare Institute (CHI) is a 25-year old 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion and advance the evidence-based Centering group model of care to transform how healthcare is practiced and experienced, empowering healthcare providers and patients to improve health outcomes. CHI partners with approximately 400+ provider organizations across the U.S. to implement and sustain its three Centering group models of care - CenteringPregnancy®, CenteringParenting ®, and CenteringHealthcare ®.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for the Business Development Associate role is $60,000-$69,000, based on the qualifications and years of relevant experience the selected candidate brings.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Pipeline Support

• Support the execution of CHI's business development strategy and annual growth objectives.
• Assist with prospecting, lead generation, qualification, and pipeline development activities.
• Support the coordination and follow-up of business development meetings, presentations, proposals, and contract discussions.
• Assist in preparing presentations, briefing materials, outreach plans, and meeting summaries for leadership.
• Support conference exhibiting, lead capture activities, and post-event follow-up.
• Assist with customer and stakeholder education efforts through webinars, information sessions, and presentations.
• Collaborate with Marketing to support outreach campaigns, lead nurturing efforts, and market awareness initiatives.
• Support identification, research, and evaluation of prospective FQHC and community health center partners.
• Maintain a pipeline of FQHC, health system, payer, and community-based partnership opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends, healthcare market developments, and emerging opportunities relevant to CHI's strategic priorities.
• Conduct research on federal and state initiatives, funding opportunities, reimbursement models, and policy developments affecting FQHCs and healthcare providers.
• Assist in gathering information that helps assess barriers, enabling conditions, and partnership opportunities for Centering implementation and scale.
• Prepare market analyses, stakeholder maps, and partnership briefs for leadership review.
• Capture and document insights from external meetings and engagements to support organizational learning and future strategy development.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Health Policy, and Marketing teams to share market intelligence and partnership insights
• Generate pipeline reports, activity reports, dashboard updates, and business development metrics.
• Assist with project tracking and reporting using Salesforce, Monday.com, or other organizational tools.
• Support maintenance of standard operating procedures related to business development processes.
• Other duties assigned

Reporting Structure and Key Relationships

This position reports directly to the Senior Business Development Manager and works closely with the Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, Philanthropy, Marketing, Programs, Health Policy Manager, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales support, partnership development, account management, healthcare administration, nonprofit development, or related field.
• Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), Doula, or other healthcare professional is highly preferred.
• Experience conducting research, managing data, and supporting client or stakeholder relationships.
• Exposure to healthcare organizations, public health, FQHCs, healthcare consulting, or nonprofit organizations is preferred.
• Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare delivery systems and healthcare industry terminology preferred.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

Working Conditions 

The Business Development Associate works primarily in a remote environment with a standard full-time schedule, though occasional irregular hours may be required. This role values adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Regular communication via Teams, Zoom, email, or similar tools is essential to maintain alignment and productivity. The position requires the ability to meet deadlines, deliver high-quality work independently, and use standard office equipment and technology. Occasional travel may be required for conferences, meetings, retreats, and other business-related events.
