AI Summary

The Associate Director will own paid search strategy and execution for a portfolio of B2B clients, focusing on pipeline growth and complex campaign architecture. They will also mentor junior team members and partner with cross-functional teams to integrate search into broader business strategies.

The Role

Wpromote's B2B Paid Search team is growing, and we're hiring an Associate Director to own paid search strategy and execution for a portfolio of B2B clients across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You'll carry a book of 3-5 accounts, be the person clients call when something matters, and be hands-on in the platforms. You'll also mentor the analysts and managers who support your accounts, but you won't have direct reports. If you want a role where you stop touching campaigns, this isn't it.

Our clients are growth-stage and enterprise B2B companies with real complexity: long sales cycles, multiple buying committees, and revenue that shows up in a CRM weeks or months after the click. The people who do this well think in pipeline, not conversions.

At Wpromote, we believe that great work is only possible with great people. Our goal is to build a better, more inclusive work environment and support our people at every stage of their careers by prioritizing a strong work-life balance through our policies and benefits listed below. As a Best Place to Work according to both Ad Age and Glassdoor and Adweek’s Fastest Growing Digital Agency, we are moving fast to expand our teams and bring new experts into the fold to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in marketing.

We offer:

-Remote-first culture

-Unlimited PTO

-Extended Holiday break (Winter)

-Flexible schedules

-Work from anywhere options*

-100% paid parental leave

-401(k) matching

-Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Pet Insurance

-Sponsored life insurance

-Short Term Disability insurance and additional voluntary insurance

-Annual Class Pass credits and more!

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $100,000 - $115,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

**While this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, we have office hubs in Los Angeles and New York, where you can join in on learning and development opportunities, fun events, take advantage of a space to work, and collaborate in person!

***This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship

You Will Be
  • Owning paid search strategy and performance across your portfolio, including forecasting, budget planning, testing roadmaps, and developing quarterly points of view that inform client decision-making
  • Leading campaign architecture and ongoing optimization across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and SA360, including bidding strategy, audience layering, and thoughtful use of automation
  • Designing measurement strategies that connect paid search investment to pipeline, not just form fills, through offline conversion imports, CRM feedback loops, and lead quality scoring
  • Using performance and measurement insights to identify opportunities and confidently advise clients when a lower-cost lead does not necessarily represent a better-quality lead
  • Translating performance data and strategic insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior client stakeholders, including navigating challenging conversations when needed
  • Maintaining a high standard of work across accounts through proactive QA, account health reviews, and clear quality standards for the team supporting you
  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members through regular feedback, guidance, and opportunities to build greater independence
  • Partnering closely with Client Strategy, Analytics, and Creative to ensure paid search is integrated with the broader client program and business strategy

You Must Have
  • 6+ years in paid search, with at least 3 running B2B programs where lead quality and pipeline were the accountability, not MQL volume
  • Direct experience with B2B measurement infrastructure: Salesforce or HubSpot integration, offline conversion imports, lead scoring, and multi-touch or incrementality frameworks. You should be able to explain what you do when the CRM data is messy, because it usually is
  • Depth in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads at the architecture level: how you'd structure an account for a business with three products, six personas, and a nine-month sales cycle
  • Experience with SaaS, fintech, HR/payroll, or similarly considered-purchase B2B categories
  • Strong analytical instincts and fluency in GA4 plus at least one enterprise analytics or BI platform
  • The ability to hold a point of view with a senior client who disagrees, and to change it when the data says you should
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and competing priorities across multiple accounts

Nice to Have
  • Agency experience, or experience managing an agency
  • Familiarity with ABM and intent data platforms (6sense, Demandbase, or similar) and how they inform search targeting
  • Experience mentoring or formally managing paid search talent
