Job Description:

Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world

As Application Engineering Supervisor, Automotive Vertical, Northern Mexico, you will play a key role for leading the application engineering team and driving customer technical engagement in the Automotive Vertical. In this role you will be able to lead and develop a high-performing team of Automotive Application Engineers while driving customer-focused technical solutions, building strategic partnerships, and supporting business growth across key automotive accounts in Mexico.

The impact you will make in this role

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Automotive Application Engineers, providing technical guidance, project prioritization, and professional development support.
• Serve as the primary technical partner for automotive customers in northern Mexico, supporting product recommendations, application development, trials, troubleshooting, and demonstrations.
• Build and strengthen relationships with customer engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to deliver effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, quality, manufacturing, and global technical resources to identify growth opportunities and drive customer success.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in engineering.
• 7 year(s) of experience in application engineering, technical service, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or customer-facing technical support in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Strong communication skills in English (intermediate/advanced level).

 

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

• Experience supporting automotive OEMs, Tier suppliers, or industrial manufacturing customers
• Previous supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience
• Experience supporting automotive manufacturing processes or materials applications
• Experience with tapes, adhesives, acoustics, films, thermal management, or related technologies
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to balance team leadership with direct customer technical support
• Ability to travel regularly within Mexico, especially in the Northwest and border regions.
• Current, valid Driver’s License

Work Location: This role follows a remote model, requiring the employee to be based in the Northern of Mexico.

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic.
