Job Title

Account Director (Lead)

Job Summary

This position serves as the primary contact and liaison to external customer on behalf of Noridian.  The position works with the Noridian staff to ensure that the contract is optimizing performance, meeting metrics/deliverables and operating on-budget.  Account Director also works with contractors, vendors, associations, and providers in the communities associated with these contracts. This position as the main responsibility of providing account management guidance, strategic leadership, planning, and reporting to and from the affected personnel.

Essential Functions

Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Ensures the organization meets all contractual and performance expectations in regards to quality, timeliness and change management implementation
  • Cultivates a positive working relationship with the both internal and external customers.  Internal customers are the       Noridian staff.  External customers are the state/federal/commercial entity associated with our contracts
  • Manages the financial performance of our contracts
  • Provides support to the bid and marketing team on growth initiatives 
  • Achieves contract expectations for the state contract and attains established Service Level Agreement (SLA) criteria
  • Participates in change management process and reviews to manage contract scope changes.
  • Coordinates budget management for contract
  • Ensures necessary internal controls are established, documented, and adhered to
  • Serves as liaison and primary contact for prime or subcontractors regarding contract performance
  • Supports contract’s technical direction and assures compliance with all Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and other legislative mandates
  • Determines and develops the technical/operational needs for program stakeholders
  • Initiates innovative recommendations to customer(s) and prime contractor
  • Recruits, develops, motivates, directs and provides leadership and performance management to professional staff
  • Establishes strategic goals, monitors and reports progress
  • Initiates disciplinary action when performance does not meet expectations
  • Leads by example by promoting team work, recognition, and leadership while demonstrating company values
  • Responds to and implements changes in a flexible, positive manner
  • Coordinates special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field
  • Masters’ degree in Business, Communications or related field; or additional years of equivalent experience in lieu of Master’s degree
  • 10 or more years of professional experience
  • 7 years’ healthcare experience
  • 5 years’ management experience
  • 3 years’ Medicare/Medicaid experience
  • 3 years managing complex medical review systems and workflow.
  • Public relations, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Management and organization skills
  • Excellent MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents
  • Ability to define, lead, and manage projects

Preferred Qualifications

Above requirements and the following:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 10 years’ healthcare experience
  • 8 years’ management experience 
  • 6 years’ specified experience for which the account in which they are leading 
  • Experience leading technology projects and teams, preferably in a state or federal public healthcare environment
  • Customer service experience 
  • Experience with contracting – terms and negotiations
  • Performance management of subcontractors

  • Requires prolonged sitting and telephone use
  • Requires the use of office equipment such as computer, telephones, copiers and printers

  • Travel up to 25%

An employee in this position may be required to possess a “Federal Identification Card” (Federal ID) as a condition of employment. Federal ID’s may include one of the following: Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card, Personal Identity Verification-Interoperable (PIV-I) card, a Local-Based Physical Access Card issued by CMS, or a Local-Based Physical Access Card issued by another Federal agency and approved by CMS.  Obtaining a Federal ID and continued eligibility for this position may require the successful completion of a Federal Background Investigation performed by the Federal Government and a residency requirement that you have lived in the United States at least three out of the last five years. Failure to obtain a Federal ID may result in the removal from the position or termination of employment.

The pay range for this position is $104,831 - $158,627 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
