Position Description

Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. The salary range displayed has not been adjusted for geographical location. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Dominion National at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The Vice President, Finance & Operations is a key leader reporting directly to the President for driving the organization’s growth strategy, ensuring financial stability, and leading operational execution across the dental organization. This role integrates financial performance management and operational leadership to deliver sustainable growth, strong margins, and scalable infrastructure. The VP partners closely with the President and leadership team to align strategy with execution, ensuring that growth initiatives translate into measurable financial and operational results.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance
  • Partner with Finance to ensure strong financial performance, margin expansion, and cash flow optimization
  • Partner with leaders to improve utilization, provider productivity, and cost management
  • Translate growth and operational strategies into financial outcomes (EBITDA, profitability, cost control)
  • Monitor and manage P&L performance across locations and business units
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation decisions, and financial planning processes
  • Provide insights into cost structure, margin improvement, and scalability
  • Provide actionable insights to improve operational and financial outcomes
  • Oversee day-to-day operations driving consistency, standardization, efficiency and quality
  • Build scalable operating models, processes, and infrastructure to support growth
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, automation, and operational efficiency
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Lead transformation initiatives (systems, workflows, automation, integration of strategic alliances)
  • Leverage analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive performance across key levers: production, collections, payer mix, and retention
  • Oversee operational components of the revenue cycle
  • Identify and reduce revenue leakage through process improvements and accountability
  • Establish dashboards and metrics to drive performance discipline across locations
  • Work with President and VP, Sales to define and execute the company’s growth strategy, including organic growth.
  • Partner to identify and prioritize market expansion opportunities and strategic partnerships / alliances
  • Lead business development initiatives, including provider recruitment, referral growth, and service expansion
  • Establish KPIs to measure growth performance (revenue growth, patient volume, market share)
  • Translate strategic priorities into executable initiatives with clear ownership, timelines, and metrics
  • Establish governance, reporting, and accountability mechanisms across growth and operations
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Operations, Finance, HR, Sales, Client Relations and Provider
  • Ensure alignment between enterprise strategy and execution
  • Lead and develop operational leaders
  • Build a high-performing, accountable, and results-driven culture
  • Strengthen leadership bench and ensure readiness for expansion
  • Foster collaboration across business, clinical, and corporate functions.

Skills:

  • Ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

Knowledge:

  • Strong P&L and financial acumen with experience driving profitability
  • Deep understanding of operations
  • Experience with growth strategy (organic + acquisitive)
  • Data-driven decision-maker with focus on measurable results

Experience:

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in senior roles overseeing operations, growth, and/or P&L
  • Experience in dental, healthcare services, or multi-site service organizations strongly preferred

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; MBA preferred
