Position Summary

 

The Vice President (VP) of Clinical Recruitment will be a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving the expansion and growth of our healthcare organization through talent acquisition.

  1. Physician Recruitment: Developing and executing comprehensive strategies to attract, recruit, and retain top-tier physicians across the cardiovascular specialty.
  2. Physician Marketing: Leading marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness, physician acquisition, and engagement, while fostering strong relationships with physicians.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic talent acquisition vision, operational and structural expertise, and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape.

 

Responsibilities include:

Physician Recruitment

  • Develop and implement comprehensive physician recruitment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical leadership to lead and develop physician acquisition needs and targeted recruitment plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with medical schools, and residency programs.
  • Develop and execute the infrastructure to ensure a robust and effective physician recruitment program including the end to end recruitment process, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding strategies to drive quality candidate placement.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on recruitment metrics to assess effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Negotiate physician compensation packages including base salary, productivity/RVU-based incentives, sign-on bonuses, and guarantee periods — in partnership with Finance and HR to ensure offers are market-competitive and support long-term retention.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment pipeline in Ashby (ATS/CRM), maintaining data integrity across requisitions and candidates, and using its reporting to track funnel performance, time-to-fill, and recruiter productivity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of physician recruiters, setting hiring targets, managing workload distribution, and conducting regular performance reviews.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all physician recruitment and compensation practices comply with the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to review physician contracts and validate fair market value (FMV) assessments for all compensation arrangements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes affecting physician recruitment, compensation structuring, and referral relationships.

Organizational Growth

  • Partner with M&A to advise on opportunities for market expansion and the potential physician growth in the areas under consideration.
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with our healthcare providers, operational teams, and M&A to drive growth goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors’ degree required. Focus in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in healthcare leadership roles, with at least 5 years in physician recruitment and marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience structuring and negotiating physician compensation models, including productivity-based (RVU) and guarantee-period arrangements.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements governing physician compensation and referral relationships (Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute).
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking / recruitment CRM systems; experience with Ashby preferred.
  • Prior experience leading and developing a recruiting team.
