AI Summary

The Designated RN Prescriber will conduct real-time telephone and video consultations to assess patients, prescribe medications, and manage ongoing treatment plans within an agreed clinical scope. They will also maintain a productive clinical partnership with an Authorised Health Practitioner and contribute to clinical audits and quality-improvement activities.

G’day, we’re Mosh & Moshy.

Our mission is to get Aussies the best possible health outcomes through best-in-class health programs.

We know the current healthcare system isn’t meeting the needs of the modern Australian, and we reckon there’s a better, more holistic way. Our programs across hair loss, sexual health, skincare, mental health and weight management are easy, accessible and completely discreet.

More than a job

There’s nothing better than knowing the work you’re doing matters and makes a genuine difference. We’re pretty lucky that, at Mosh & Moshy, this is the norm rather than the exception.

The Opportunity

The introduction of the Designated RN Prescriber endorsement represents an exciting advancement in Australian nursing practice. We’re looking for an experienced Designated Registered Nurse Prescriber to help bring this emerging model of care to life within a mature digital health platform.

This is a genuinely pioneering opportunity. You’ll be among the first cohort of endorsed RN Prescribers in Australia delivering nurse-led prescribing through telehealth, supported by a dedicated clinical governance framework and structured partnership with an Authorised Health Practitioner.

Reporting to our Chief Medical Officer, you’ll conduct real-time telephone and video consultations, assess patients and prescribe within an agreed clinical scope. You’ll remain professionally responsible and accountable for your clinical and prescribing decisions, with clear escalation pathways, ongoing mentorship and multidisciplinary support.

What you’ll do

As a Designated RN Prescriber, you’ll:

  • Consult with new and existing patients via telephone and video, providing education, clinical advice and support
  • Assess patients and make evidence-based clinical decisions within your agreed prescribing scope
  • Manage patients’ ongoing treatment plans, including assessing their response to treatment
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and adjust treatment where clinically indicated and within scope
  • Recognise when a patient’s needs fall outside your agreed scope and escalate or refer them promptly
  • Triage presenting symptoms to the appropriate medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or pharmacist
  • Maintain a productive clinical partnership with your nominated Authorised Health Practitioner, including regular case reviews and clear escalation pathways
  • Complete a structured six-month clinical mentorship program when you commence
  • Document consultations, assessments and prescribing decisions accurately and contemporaneously
  • Participate in clinical audits, monitoring, peer learning and quality-improvement activities
  • Report adverse events and near misses in line with our clinical governance processes and relevant regulatory obligations
  • Contribute clinical insights to the ongoing development of our treatment protocols and patient care pathways

Experience you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

  • Current general registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with no conditions or undertakings relevant to prescribing
  • NMBA endorsement for scheduled medicines as a Designated Registered Nurse Prescriber, or an active application with evidence that you meet the eligibility requirements
  • Successful completion of the NMBA-approved units of study required for endorsement
  • At least 5,000 hours—or the equivalent of three years’ full-time practice—of post-registration clinical experience completed within the past six years
  • A current PBS prescriber number, or the ability to obtain one
  • A sound understanding of Quality Use of Medicines principles and the NMBA designated RN prescribing framework
  • The ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and make independent, evidence-based clinical decisions within a defined scope
  • Strong clinical judgement and a commitment to safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care
  • Confident, clear and empathetic communication skills, particularly in telephone and video consultations
  • The ability to work collaboratively with an Authorised Health Practitioner and broader multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Confidence navigating digital clinical platforms, documentation systems and telehealth tools
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, including prescribing-specific CPD requirements

Experience in telehealth, primary care or a closely related clinical setting will be highly regarded.
