Software Engineer I

Your job

As a Software Engineer I at Indeed, you will contribute to the design and development of software that supports shared infrastructure and services used across the company. You’ll work with other engineers and cross-functional partners to build reliable, scalable solutions, participate in code reviews to uphold high engineering standards, and grow your technical skills. You’ll have opportunities to learn about AI models, tools, and their applications as Indeed responsibly explores how AI can help people get jobs.

This role offers the chance to work with modern technologies, leveraging AI assisted software development tools, while helping remove technical barriers for teams across Indeed and supporting experimentation at scale.

Who you are

• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable features aligning with industry best practices
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and cross-functional partners including Product Managers, Site Reliability Engineers to deliver well-designed solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and best practices in software engineering.

Who we are

• Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,  Mathematics, or related field
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, Java, or similar)
• Accelerate code delivery by utilizing approved LLM tools
• Operate autonomously in a remote environment with minimal guidance
• Passion to learn and develop new skills continuously

Salary Range Disclaimer

The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
