This role involves conducting thorough and high-quality Form F assessments for prospective foster carers on behalf of the Fostering Service. The successful candidate will manage the entire assessment process, from initial allocation to presentation at the Fostering Panel, ensuring all work aligns with fostering regulations, safeguarding requirements, and service standards. The position requires the production of analytical, evidence-based reports that evaluate applicants' suitability to foster, all within agreed timelines. This is a 12-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £321.39 per day outside IR35, or £2500 per completed assessment, with a commitment of 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive Form F (Wales) assessments for prospective foster carers.
Oversee the assessment process from allocation to Fostering Panel presentation.
Plan and execute assessment visits with applicants and relevant individuals.
Collect, analyze, and evaluate information from interviews, references, and statutory checks.
Assess applicants' strengths, vulnerabilities, and capacity to foster.
Produce detailed, evidence-based Form F reports with recommendations.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of all assessment activities.
Requirements:
Significant post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.
Experience in conducting complex social work assessments and report writing.
Prior experience with Form F assessments is highly desirable.
Experience in fostering services or related specialist teams.
Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent qualification.
Current registration with Social Care Wales.
Evidence of ongoing professional development in fostering and children's services.
Additional Information
Working hours are 10 hours per week.
