The Department of Economic Security, Appellate Services Administration, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Project Coordinator. The position is responsible for leading long-term and complex projects of considerable difficulty supporting executive level and department-wide priorities. In doing so, the incumbent will lead and manage resources supporting projects designed to identify, develop, and implement broad-scale changes that improve outcomes for Arizonans and the quality and efficiency of government. The role will lead the development and maintenance of programmatic performance dashboards to support performance reflection and problem solving. The results of these activities are used to reinforce accountability, recommend improvements, and facilitate decision making by management. Travel may be requested as needed based on the needs of the agency.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures.

| Job Duties: |
• Coordinates and leads a portfolio of long-term and complex projects of considerable difficulty supporting executive level and department-wide priorities. Lead and manage resources supporting projects designed to identify, develop and implement broad-scale changes that improve outcomes for Arizonans, and the quality and efficiency of government.
• Leads the development and maintenance of programmatic performance dashboards to support performance reflection and problem solving.
• Conducts independent research and studies to identify best practices. It will coordinate the implementation of opportunities for improvement identified via results of internal quality and compliance reviews.
• Assists with preparing written communications, presentations and other deliverables associated with programmatic performance, problem solving and other research to support engagement with Department Executives and other senior leaders.
| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of research methodology and the accurate and reliable collection of data
• Proficiency in data query construction and logic, and data integrity practices
• Project management techniques and tools
• Lean management problem solving behaviors
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suite applications
• General regulatory framework of federal, state and municipal social service programs
• Software development cycle and user-acceptance-testing (UAT) practices
Skills In:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; expressing ideas and information concisely with all levels of the organization
• Establishing and maintaining constructive relationships with individuals and teams with and without a direct reporting relationship
• Developing reliable data queries, and communicating business requirements to technical resources
• Producing deliverables with high accuracy and reliability
Ability to:
• Must be able to travel in and out-of-state
• Communicate business and technical requirements on behalf of program to other technical resources
• Interpret data sets to support problem solving efforts
• Manage a portfolio of projects and multiple priorities, ensuring the timely and accurate production of deliverables and project outcomes
• Produce accurate and reliable data dashboards and other visual representations of data for use by senior leadership

• Education or certificate associated with Structured Query Language (SQL)

• This position may require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
