Join the Business and Technology (BTO) branch and play a key role in shaping, supporting, and evolving enterprise platforms that enable critical services across the Government of Alberta.

We are seeking both a Senior Platform Services Analyst and a Platform Services Analyst to help drive platform excellence, service reliability, and continuous improvement. 

 

Platform Services Analyst

As a Platform Services Analyst, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and ongoing support of enterprise platform services. Working closely with technical teams and business partners, you will help implement solutions, maintain service reliability, and support the delivery of platform capabilities that enable government programs and services.
 

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support platform development, configuration, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining platform services, tools, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor platform performance and contribute to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Support service delivery while ensuring compliance with government standards, policies, and security requirements.
  • Participate in project initiatives, testing activities, and service improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and support effective technology solutions.
  • Contribute to agile teams and support the successful delivery of platform-related projects and services.

As a Senior Platform Services Analyst, you will provide technical leadership for enterprise platform services, ensuring platform architecture, standards, and roadmaps support current and future business needs. You will lead complex initiatives, guide platform strategy, influence solution design, and collaborate with stakeholders across government to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Lead platform architecture, standards development, and strategic platform planning.
  • Provide expert advice on platform capabilities, solution design, and technology recommendations.
  • Oversee platform upgrades, enhancements, and service improvements.
  • Ensure platform services align with government standards, security requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Lead complex projects and cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Drive operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, service optimization, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

For Systems Analyst 2: 

  • University graduation in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 2 years of related experience.


Equivalencies: 

  • A related two-year diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and four (4) years related experience; or
  • A related one-year certificate from a recognized institution and five (5) years related experience.


For Systems Analyst 3:

  • University graduation in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 4 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, complex projects and strategic initiatives from planning through to successful delivery.
  • Proven experience leading and empowering diverse teams of professionals to achieve high-performance outcomes and organizational objectives.


Equivalencies: 

  • A related two-year diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and six (6) years related experience; or
  • A related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and seven (7) years related experience.

 

Required for both the positions:

  • Experience supporting a broad range of enterprise technologies and platforms.
  • Experience supporting application infrastructure and/or software development environments.
  • Experience facilitating changes to business processes and policies to meet evolving operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Government goals, strategies, priorities, and initiatives, particularly as they relate to Technology and Innovation.
  • Knowledge of ministry mandates, business plans, and operational objectives.
  • Knowledge of privacy, security, and information management legislation and standards.
  • Proficiency with standard business productivity and collaboration software.

 

Assets: 

  • Certification in ServiceNow, Microsoft Dynamics, NICE inContact, or other equivalent enterprise platform technologies
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Certification in SAFE, Scrum, or other Agile methodologies.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise technical environments and system interdependencies.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies in a business environment is preferred.
  • Experience in developing professional presentations, training materials, and deliver effective training sessions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, consultation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Sound technical aptitude and business acumen, with the ability to balance business needs and organizational objectives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively, build strong relationships, mentor team members, and support continuous improvement.

Notes

Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-time positions

Hours of Work: 7.25 hours daily / 36.25 weekly – Monday to Friday

Location: Greater Edmonton or Calgary area (Remote)

 

These positions are eligible for remote work within the Greater Edmonton or Calgary areas; however, candidates must reside in one of these locations to be considered for remote work eligibility.
