What is a Senior HRIS Analyst?

The Senior HRIS Analyst serves as the primary Workday subject matter expert and is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of CSD's Workday Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role partners with Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, IT, and business leaders to enhance system functionality, improve business processes, maintain data integrity, and deliver meaningful workforce insights. The Senior HRIS Analyst also leads system enhancements, reporting, security administration, release management, and strategic HR technology initiatives that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

  • What your role is:

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Workday Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring system performance, reliability, and alignment with business needs.

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday business processes, security roles, notifications, validations, calculated fields, and system settings.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement system enhancements that improve operational efficiency, automation, and user experience.

  • Manage Workday releases by performing impact analysis, coordinating testing, deploying updates, and communicating system changes to stakeholders.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, scorecards, and calculated fields to support business operations and strategic decision-making.

  • Partner with Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, IT, and organizational leadership to deliver workforce analytics, operational reporting, and system solutions.

  • Monitor and audit HR data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and data governance standards.

  • Analyze data trends, identify root causes of system or data issues, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Administer Workday security roles, domains, and permissions while conducting periodic security audits and maintaining appropriate system access.

  • Support and troubleshoot Workday integrations, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), Core Connectors, and third-party system interfaces.

  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, IT teams, and business partners to resolve complex technical issues and implement new functionality.

  • Lead small to medium-sized HRIS projects, support enterprise-wide technology initiatives, and participate in Workday implementation, optimization, and expansion efforts.

  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and training materials.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to HRIS team members while serving as a trusted resource for Workday best practices and HR technology initiatives.

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

What's required from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of four years of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) experience.
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on Workday administration experience.
  • Strong experience supporting Workday HCM and at least two additional modules such as Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, or Learning.
  • Experience developing advanced Workday reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Experience configuring Workday business processes, security roles, domains, and permissions.
  • Experience supporting Workday integrations, Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), Core Connectors, and Workday Studio preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Experience supporting multi-state organizations and complex HR and payroll operations preferred.
  • Experience leading Workday implementations, system optimizations, or major enhancement projects preferred.
  • Workday Pro certifications are highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
