Senior Financial Analyst  -  REMOTE

Role and Responsibilities

The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing financial models and monthly reporting packages to support ongoing business operations and initiatives.  Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance with a dotted line into the CFO, the Sr. Financial Analyst will interface with Finance and Accounting management, business unit leaders, department heads, and our PE investors.   As such, the role requires executive presence and the ability to influence and guide business decisions.   The Sr. Financial Analyst will take the initiative in an ambiguous, unstructured, and fast-paced environment.  This role is a blend of corporate finance (FP&A), accounting, and strategic analysis.  Additional roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   

  • Interface with the accounting team during the month-end close process to drive understanding into actual results and implications to the forecast and on-going business operations.
  • Work with our Accounting Manager to assist in the month-end closing process.
  • Maintain, update, and improve the accuracy of the forecast model (updated monthly).
  • Update the rolling forecast model monthly or as directed.
  • Own the relationship with our business partners (internal/external) / department leaders to drive insights and understanding to the latest trends.
  • Interface with WS to provide the needed recurring or Ad Hoc reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required).
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations and reporting requirements (align with legal department to provided needed financial support).
  • Develop an understanding of organizational KPI’s / metrics that drive the various business lines.
  • Continuous process improvement to drive operational insights and data analysis.       
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and modeling to support ongoing business operations.
  • Build creative financial models to support organizational decision making.  This would also include sensitivity / what-if analysis.
  • Strong understanding / adherence of corporate reporting cadence (monthly, quarterly, and annually) to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the treasury function and banking relationships.
  • Support and update the monthly sales commission reporting.
  • Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and ad hoc analysis as needed (cross company).
  • Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • If a HIPAA violation is discovered, whether individually or by another, you must report the violation to the Compliance Officer and/or Human Resources.
  • Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to build remote relationships and influence confidentiality with a wide range of stakeholders (executive presence)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Understanding of MS Dynamics preferred / or other ERP systems 
  • Experience using Power BI preferred
  • Understanding of M&A initiatives / process
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


Supervisory Responsibility

This is no supervisory responsibility for this position.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-time, salary/exempt position.
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT.  We cover clients from West to East Coast, work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones.  Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant to industry demands.

Travel

Minimal travel expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.  MBA / CPA a plus.
  • 3-6 years of progressive experience within corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or accounting (public or private)  
  • Experience in the PBM or Healthcare industry preferred but not required.
