The Senior Compliance Analyst supports the development and maintenance of import and export trade compliance programs across North America. This role involves managing customs broker relationships, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to international trade laws and internal controls.
About the Role
The Senior Compliance Analyst supports the Compliance Manager in developing, executing, and maintaining Barry Callebaut's import and export trade compliance program across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This role helps ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations, supports audits and government inquiries, and works closely with customs brokers and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain effective trade compliance controls and processes.
Key Responsibilities Include
Support compliance with domestic and international import and export regulations across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Provide day-to-day guidance on trade compliance matters, including tariff classification, valuation, FTAs, customs broker management, and export compliance.
Assist in developing and deploying import and export compliance programs, procedures, and internal controls.
Help ensure compliance with applicable trade laws, regulations, licensing, and permit requirements.
Support customs compliance programs for ocean, air, and truck shipments across US/CAN/MX operations.
Coordinate administration activities related to the CTPAT program.
Conduct and support import compliance audits and related corrective actions.
Perform data analysis for transfer pricing and royalty reconciliation activities.
Maintain SAP tariff code master data and support tariff classification requests.
Review and escalate government inquiries and support internal and external audits and disclosures.
Manage FDA site registration renewals and collaborate closely with customs brokers.
About You
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
At least 5 years of customs and trade compliance experience across the US, Canada, and Mexico is required.
Knowledge of US, Canadian, and Mexican import and export regulations is required.
Experience with SAP and ERP systems is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace tools, and data analysis is required.
Experience using the US ACE Portal is required; CFIA experience is preferred.
Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
Strong analytical, independent working, prioritization, and problem-solving skills are required.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, stand-alone environment and collaborate across teams is required.
Limited travel is expected.
