The Role
Intellect is a workplace mental health and EAP provider that is growing quickly across Australia and New Zealand. We're competing for larger enterprise and government contracts, and the operational and strategic workload behind those deals now outstrips the commercial team's capacity.
This role is the ANZ General Manager's right hand. You take ANZ market priorities (a product gap, a compliance requirement, a go-live risk, a new market opportunity) and drive them to a finished outcome across Intellect's regional functions: Product, Operations, Clinical, Legal and Revenue. You do this without the GM chasing each step.
This isn't a sales role and it isn't a tender-writing role. It's the operating and strategy engine that lets the ANZ commercial team spend its time winning and keeping clients. The target: this role helps unlock AUD 1.5M in additional new business for ANZ within 12 months.
What You'll Do
Drive ANZ priorities through regional HQ (core of the role)
- Turn the GM's priorities into clear, structured requests for Product, Ops, Clinical, Legal and Revenue, and track each one to completion.
- Run the ANZ-to-HQ rhythm: a weekly status on open items, with escalation to the GM only when a decision is needed.
- Own a live register of ANZ strategic initiatives showing owner, status, dependency and next action.
- Project-manage the HQ side of new client go-lives: product configuration, clinical resourcing and operations set-up.
Execute strategic initiatives from idea to outcome
- Own 3–5 ANZ initiatives at a time, such as new service lines, critical incident service improvements, and psychosocial risk products. Define scope, timeline, dependencies and success criteria for each.
- Write structured requirements for Product rather than making verbal requests, and flag slippage before it becomes a client risk.
- Research the market: competitor proposals and pricing, value proposition and pricing strategy for 2027, and SLA gaps against what the market expects.
- Build business cases and briefing packs for leadership forums.
Run pipeline and reporting operations
- Keep the ANZ HubSpot pipeline accurate every week: stage, close date, ACV and last activity.
- Own the data for the ANZ section of the monthly business review (MBR), in the regional standard format.
- Flag pipeline coverage gaps three months ahead of quarter end.
Coordinate tender compliance and capacity
- Chair Go/No-Go decisions on new tenders and maintain the criteria.
- Own compliance pre-checks before any submission, including insurance, the Fair Jobs Code, data sovereignty and accreditation.
- Back up the dedicated RFP specialist on priority bids, and manage external bid consultants' scope and cost.
Handle people and business administration
- Coordinate ANZ people processes with the People team, scope office and operating requirements, and keep the GM's calendar clear of non-commercial administration.
Requirements
The deciding trait is operating with authority. You'll lead conversations with people more senior than you, push an agenda they may not want, and hold the line when they push back, all without the GM in the room.
Must-haves
- 3–6 years in management consulting, strategy and operations, business operations or commercial roles, ideally at a scaling B2B or SaaS company
- A track record of taking an initiative from an incomplete brief to a finished outcome with little supervision. You can describe one in detail.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders across functions, including telling a senior person "no" or "not now" and making it stick
- Comfort with ambiguity: you make a call on partial information and adjust, rather than waiting for certainty
- Strong commercial and financial skills: pricing, margin, business cases and pipeline analysis
- Disciplined project management: registers, cadences and follow-through without reminders
- Clear, concise writing for executive audiences
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with HubSpot or another CRM, and with reporting and dashboard tools
- Exposure to tenders, procurement or regulated industries (health, insurance, government)
- Knowledge of the Australian market, or of EAP, workplace mental health or psychosocial risk
- Confident, practical use of AI tools to move faster
