Job Title: Sales Leader - South and East Africa

Location:  Home Office (Johannesburg, South Africa)

The job  

The Sales Leader Southern & East Africa is accountable for leading AVEVA’s commercial growth, customer engagement, partner ecosystem and execution discipline across the assigned Southern and East African markets.

The Sales Director must translate AVEVA’s Africa strategy into country, industry and account execution plans, with clear ownership of ACV, TCV, SaaS growth, new logos, pipeline creation, forecast quality and customer value realization.

The role will also support selected cross-regional opportunities where mining, power, renewables, data-center or infrastructure expertise is required.

 

Key responsibilities 

Define priority countries, priority industries, strategic accounts and partner coverage models.

Own ACV, TCV, SaaS, renewal, new-logo and pipeline targets for the assigned region.

Build high-quality pipeline with clear qualification, next steps, decision criteria, budget status and executive sponsorship.

Own and govern strategic account plans for priority customers in mining, power, renewables, data centers, infrastructure and industrial manufacturing.

Build senior relationships with C-level, operations, maintenance, engineering, digital, IT/OT, procurement and finance stakeholders.

Lead, coach and develop the account managers assigned to the region.

Raise activity level, customer intimacy, preparation quality, account ownership and deal discipline.

Coordinate presales, marketing, legal, finance, customer success, delivery and support teams to progress strategic opportunities.

Monitor political, regulatory, currency, infrastructure, energy and procurement risks across assigned countries.

 

Essential requirements 

Senior sales leadership experience in enterprise software, industrial software, automation, energy, mining, infrastructure or related B2B technology sectors.

Demonstrated ability to lead complex regional businesses across multiple countries and industries.

Strong understanding of industrial customers and operational decision-making in mining, power, utilities, infrastructure, renewables, manufacturing or energy-intensive sectors.

Proven track record in strategic account management, executive selling, partner-led growth and large deal governance.

Ability to lead teams through change, raise performance standards and build a disciplined sales operating rhythm.

Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, forecast discipline and stakeholder management.

Experience working with partners, system integrators, EPCs, automation providers, cloud partners and channel ecosystems.

Strong communication skills with the ability to represent AVEVA credibly with senior customers, partners and internal executives.
