This is an independent Control Function role. We are looking for a hands-on risk professional with practical experience in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across an organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company's Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Frameworks, policies, and procedures.

  • Identify, assess, monitor and report material risks across all business activities, processes and systems.

  • Maintain the company's Risk Register, risk assessments, controls, mitigation plans and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).

  • Establish and monitor risk appetite, risk tolerance, risk limits and escalation thresholds.

  • Conduct risk and control assessments and monitor the effectiveness of mitigating controls.

  • Manage and monitor operational risks, including risks related to people, processes, systems and external events.

  • Oversee risk aspects relating to operational resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, incidents and change management.

  • Monitor ICT, information security and cybersecurity risks in coordination with the relevant technical functions.

  • Assess third-party, outsourcing, fraud and supplier-related risks.

  • Review risk events, incidents and control failures, conduct root-cause analysis and follow up corrective actions.

  • Prepare periodic risk reports for Senior Management and support required CBUAE risk reporting and regulatory submissions.

  • Provide independent risk advice and constructive challenge to management.

  • Be acquainted with Operational risk as articulated by the CBUAE framework. Also operational resilience areas including ICT/cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery, incident management, change management and third-party risk.



Requirements

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, Insurance or a related discipline. Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Recognized professional certification in Risk Management is important.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant practical experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit or External Audit.

  • Strong hands-on Risk Management experience, including risk assessments, risk registers, controls, KRIs, mitigation plans and risk reporting.

  • Experience in insurance, insurance brokerage, banking or financial services is strongly preferred.

  • Good understanding of Operational Risk Management, internal controls and the Three Lines of Defense model.

  • Exposure to operational resilience, BCP/DR, incident management, technology/cyber risk and third-party risk is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

  • Ability to work independently and constructively challenge business and management.

  • Must be able to satisfy applicable CBUAE Fit and Proper requirements.

The Candidate We Want

The candidate should be capable of understanding business processes, identifying what could go wrong, evaluating existing controls, assessing residual risk and recommending practical mitigation measures.

Candidates with strong Risk Management experience in India, particularly within insurance, banking or other regulated financial institutions, are encouraged to apply.


Work Location & Arrangement

  • The position will be based primarily in India, with the candidate working remotely for the office in the UAE.

  • The successful candidate will be provided with a UAE employment visa and will be required to travel to the UAE when necessary for meetings, regulatory requirements, training, or other business needs.

  • While working from India, the candidate will have the flexibility to work either:

  • From our Trivandrum office, or

  • From home, based on the agreed working arrangement.

  • The candidate will work closely with the Company’s management and teams in the UAE and must be available during agreed working hours to ensure effective coordination.

  • The role requires a high level of independence, accountability, confidentiality, and effective remote communication.
