Human Resources Manager
Role Mission: The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the Human Resources team, providing support to the Director of Human Resources and school leadership in all operational and strategic HR functions. This role ensures consistent application of HR policies, promotes employee development, and maintains compliance with labor laws and organizational standards. The Human Resources Manager provides guidance and support in employee relations, HR operations, policy enforcement, and HR projects, while demonstrating the ability to handle confidential information, resolve complex HR issues, and work independently within a school environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: NA
Location: This is a full-time remote position located in El Paso. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectations: May travel 10% or less at the busiest times of the year to attend conferences or trainings.
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Director of Human Resources and school leadership on employee issues, performance concerns, and conflict resolution.
• Investigate employee concerns and complaints and provide guidance and recommendations for resolution.
• Ensure that all employee relations activities comply with school policies and employment laws, providing support and guidance to leadership as needed.
HR Operations and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Monitor HR systems and maintain accurate data for reporting and decision-making.
• Stay informed on FMLA regulations to provide guidance and support as needed.
• Understand ADA accommodations and assist leadership in applying them appropriately.
• Track staff retention and analyze trends to support organizational planning.
• Maintain the exit process and conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and inform HR strategies.
• Track staff educational training and professional development to ensure all required goals are completed.
Policy and Procedure Management
• Advise school leadership on the creation, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to school leaders and staff on HR policies, ensuring understanding and proper application.
• Monitor adherence to HR policies and recommend improvements or adjustments as needed.
Staff Development and Performance Management
• Partner with leadership to guide the performance evaluation process and ensure staff professional development goals are met.
• Support school leaders in providing coaching and mentoring staff to foster professional growth and improve performance.
HR Projects and Process Improvement
• Lead HR projects assigned by the Director of HR, including process improvements, policy updates, and organizational initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership on HR-related change initiatives and school-wide projects.

Required Education and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a generalist role; experience in a school or educational setting is strongly preferred.
• HR Knowledge: Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment law, employee relations, and HR compliance.
• Licenses or Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred; other relevant certifications or credentials in HR or education are a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $63,400 and $73,300, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
