Regional Branch Manager

County Materials is seeking a Regional Branch Manager L&M to lead and support branch operations across Wisconsin. This role is ideal for a results-driven, growth-oriented leader with strong business development skills, the ability to build and staff high-performing teams, and the capability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive profitable sales growth across multiple retail branch locations.

Job Summary:

The Regional Branch Manager L&M is responsible for the overall leadership, sales performance, business development, staffing strategy, and operational success of up to 20 branch locations. This position partners closely with Branch Managers to develop and implement strategic plans that increase profitable sales, expand customer relationships, identify market opportunities, strengthen staffing levels, and improve customer service, inventory management, workforce planning, hiring, training, coaching, retention, safety, and operational consistency. The Regional Branch Manager establishes clear expectations, promotes accountability, and supports a positive team environment aligned with County Materials’ standards, values, policies, and business goals. This is a remote role that will travel to all retail locations across the state of Wisconsin. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and support retail branch operations across the assigned Wisconsin territory to achieve sales growth, service, operational, safety, staffing, and profitability goals.
• Partner with Branch Managers to develop and execute branch-level sales growth and business development plans that maximize customer opportunities and strengthen market presence.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to Branch Managers and branch leadership teams regarding goals, initiatives, performance, and operational expectations.
• Lead workforce planning, staffing, hiring, onboarding, training, development, and retention efforts to ensure branch teams are properly staffed and prepared to meet business needs.
• Manage overall inventory investment, product mix, and branch resources to align with customer demand and business needs.
• Monitor branch performance, sales activity, staffing levels, customer trends, and market conditions to identify opportunities and implement actions that improve efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across locations.
• Ensure branch operations comply with company policies, procedures, safety programs, and operational standards.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, vendors, and business partners to support growth and service excellence.
• Identify market opportunities, customer needs, competitive trends, and potential growth areas for products and services; translate findings into practical business development and strategic action plans for the assigned region.
• Develop, communicate, and implement regional strategic plans that align branch staffing, sales initiatives, customer engagement, inventory, and operational priorities with division goals.
• Foster a positive, safe, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience required.
• Five years of related industry, retail, branch operations, landscape, masonry, construction materials, or similar experience preferred.
• Experience leading teams, staffing branch operations, developing managers, and building strong working relationships across multiple locations.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales performance, develop business growth strategies, understand staffing and operational needs, manage inventory priorities, improve customer service, and influence profitability drivers.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and implement strategic plans that align sales growth, business development, staffing, and operational execution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction, feedback, and follow-up.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities in a remote, travel-based role.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.
• Ability and willingness to learn, receive training, and adapt to changing business needs.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.

Work Environment:

• Remote work arrangement with regular travel to retail branch locations throughout Wisconsin.
• Frequent driving is required to support branch visits, customer needs, team member support, and business operations.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required; limited out-of-state travel may occur for training, meetings, or events.
• Work may be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to hot or cold temperatures, weather conditions, noise, machinery, chemicals, and public interaction.
• Estimated travel: approximately 40% within Wisconsin, with occasional out-of-state travel as needed.
• Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; minimal weekends required and no holidays expected.
