This is a remote position.
Paradigm is seeking a Quality Assurance Data Analyst to support our client, Epiq, on its Class Action Data Services team. This is a hands-on data quality role for someone who enjoys digging into data, understanding how it moves through complex systems, and making sure the final output is accurate.
The ideal candidate combines strong SQL/T-SQL skills, analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, and clear communication. You will use SQL and Excel to validate data imports, updates, extracts, and transformations involving datasets that may contain hundreds, thousands, or millions of records. You will work closely with data engineers, business analysts, project teams, and other QA professionals in a highly collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

As a Quality Assurance Data Analyst, you will:
- Validate the accuracy and completeness of data imports, updates, transformations, and extracts involving datasets ranging from hundreds to millions of records.
- Review and understand the logic behind complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and other database processes.
- Write and execute SQL test queries to verify data integrity, business logic, and expected results.
- Analyze data using SQL Server, Excel, and related tools to confirm that business and project requirements have been met.
- Develop and execute test cases covering normal conditions, exceptions, data anomalies, and other relevant scenarios.
- Review requirements and specifications to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or potential data-quality issues.
- Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, project managers, and QA team members to identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
- Verify corrections and problem resolutions accurately and efficiently.
- Assist business partners in translating functional requirements into appropriate testing scenarios and validation criteria.
- Perform dependable peer reviews to identify errors and ensure adherence to Data Services standards.
- Maintain clear documentation and appropriate work artifacts demonstrating that required validation and testing have been completed.
- Provide timely and accurate status updates to leadership, Workforce, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 2+ years of strong database testing or data-validation experience, including writing and executing complex SQL queries.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with T-SQL, ANSI-89, and/or ANSI-92 SQL.
- Strong working knowledge of relational databases and the ability to understand moderately to highly complex SQL logic.
- Experience reviewing and understanding stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database logic.
- Experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, QA/Data Testing, Process Specialist, or similar analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills and deductive reasoning, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of data modeling and data organization concepts.
- Familiarity with extract, transform, and load (ETL) concepts, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
SQL/T-SQL Knowledge
Candidates should be comfortable working with and discussing SQL/T-SQL concepts such as:
- NULL handling
- Subqueries, including IN, EXISTS, inline views, and correlated subqueries
- Primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, and defaults
- Transactions and error handling
- BCP and BULK INSERT
- Indexing
- Stored procedures and user-defined functions
- Triggers
- Views and temporary tables
- Common table expressions (CTEs)
- Querying, creating, validating, and updating data
This position does not require a SQL developer, but candidates must have sufficient hands-on SQL experience to understand database logic, analyze data, and write queries used to validate complex data processes.
