Project control analysts 

The Finance Specialist supports a complex production program by managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) activities, preparing and reporting key financial metrics, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of formal financial reports to external government customers. This role works closely with program leadership, finance, control account managers, and scheduling teams, while also providing training on EV processes and using specialized systems to maintain financial integrity and support audits.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager, Finance team, Control Account Managers (CAMs), and Scheduling functions to support the ASARS-2B Production program.
  • Support the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) by preparing weekly earned value metrics and variance reports.
  • Train program team members on Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and best practices as needed.
  • Utilize SAP, PMX, and EDIT+ systems and tools to support program financial management and reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly IPMDARs (Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Reports) to the external government customer within the required +17 business day timeline.
  • Assemble the Contract Performance Dataset (CPD) in JSON format for inclusion in the monthly IPMDAR submission.
  • Prepare the Performance Narrative Report, including both Executive Summary and Detailed Analysis sections, to explain performance trends and variances.
  • Provide critical support for ongoing and future audits by ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability of financial data and reports.
  • Enter data from source documents into computer systems or storage media using a keyboard or scanning device for subsequent processing.
  • Record financial transactions and other account information to update and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Resolve billing or service complaints by investigating issues and coordinating with appropriate departments for resolution.
  • Refer customer grievances to designated departments and follow up to ensure timely investigation and closure.
  • Maintain organized documentation and records to support financial reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify financial data, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting processes.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience supporting Earned Value Management System (EVMS) activities and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP for financial or program management applications.
  • Experience using PMX tools in a finance or program control environment.
  • Experience using EDIT+ tools to support program financial data and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver IPMDARs (Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Reports) to external customers, including Contract Performance Datasets in JSON format and narrative performance reports.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial tracking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, communication, and presentations.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills using keyboard or scanning devices.
  • Ability to record and maintain detailed financial transactions and accounting records.
  • Customer service skills to resolve billing or service complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and documentation.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage deliverables within specified timeframes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience training teams on EVM processes and tools.
  • Familiarity with government program reporting requirements and audit support.
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing executive summaries and detailed performance analyses.
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial and performance data and explain variances.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including finance, program management, CAMs, and scheduling.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position, must work PST hours and follows a 9/80 schedule.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rockville, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
