Production Financial Analyst

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented financial analyst to support our Production Accountant on visual effects productions running across multiple studio locations. Reporting directly to the Production Accountant, you will gather and organize data from our production and finance systems and prepare the calculations and reports that support revenue recognition, tax credit claims, client invoicing and ad hoc requests.

The work is well defined and follows established processes, with regular guidance and review from the Production Accountant. This role is a great fit for an experienced professional who enjoys accurate, steady, structured work and wants a stable position with a supportive team.

What You Will Do

Project Data

• Gather, validate and organize data from our production tracking and finance systems as requested by the Production Accountant.
• Help reconcile payroll and costs by project, and flag discrepancies between production and financial information.
• Keep project cost and estimate databases up to date and accurate.

Revenue Recognition

• Assist with revenue recognition calculations and prepare supporting schedules, following company policy and established methods.
• Help track project actuals against budgets and forecasts.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounting.

Tax Credits

• Assist with calculations and supporting documentation for production tax credit claims.
• Help maintain tax credit tracking and update estimates as projects evolve.

Reporting and Invoicing

• Prepare ad hoc reports and data pulls in response to requests.
• Maintain recurring reports used by the production and finance teams.
• Prepare client invoices aligned with contract terms and project milestones, for review by the Production Accountant.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

• Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional qualifications (CA, CMA, MBA Finance or equivalent, whether completed or in progress) are welcome but not required.
• 4 to 7 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, project accounting, audit or a related area.
• Solid understanding of reconciliations, month-end close and basic financial reporting.
• Experience working in an ERP or accounting system (for example SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Tally or similar).
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data from multiple sources.
• Clear written and spoken English, and comfort working remotely with a manager in another time zone.
• A careful, consistent approach to recurring and detail-oriented tasks.
• Ability to follow processes, take direction, and manage several requests at once.

Assets

• Experience in visual effects, animation, media, or another project-based industry such as construction, engineering or professional services.
• Experience with NetSuite or Autodesk ShotGrid.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL or a similar database tool.
• Ability to use AI tools to work more efficiently.

Additional Information

Work Timing : Working in Global Shift timing, Late Evening Shifts / Night Shifts.
