As a Product Manager at EMPLOYERS, you will have a crucial role in driving transformation and innovation through the development and improvement of digital solutions that will revolutionize customer experiences, streamline processes, and move our organization towards industry-leading transformation. You will lead by championing the voice of the customer and fostering a user-centric development approach to ensure products meet the evolving needs of our customers, agents, injured workers, and healthcare providers. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee the product development process from concept to implementation, ensuring our products exceed expectations and making it intuitive and easy to manage insurance products from EMPLOYERS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding and communicating the needs and preferences of a target personas. This involves gathering and analyzing customer feedback through channels such as surveys, focus groups, engagement and analytics data, interviews, and usability testing.
  • Responsible for setting OKRs for a product and validating business cases prior to significant investment.
  • Develop a clear and compelling product vision and create a roadmap that supports this vision.
  • This involves understanding customer needs and market trends and prioritizing key features and milestones to achieve the vision.
  • Manage cross-functional team members including engineering, product design, marketing, and operations, to ensure the product is delivered on time with high quality.
  • Drive go-to-market strategy, successfully bringing products to launch, monitoring OKRs, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities and make recommendations based on data insights to meet the intended customer needs.
  • Interpret data regularly to make informed decisions about the product, gathering and analyzing data from various sources to consider the big picture.
  • Stay current on customer trends and preferences to inform product strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team throughout the product development lifecycle, maintaining a high-performing team by setting clear goals and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements, including features, epic and user stories, and user acceptance test criteria.
  • Prioritize and maintain the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing pressing business needs.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Background and Experience/Expertise

  • 2+ years of experience in product management.
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile and scrum processes and product development.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in documenting business processes and workflows.
  • Experience developing product roadmaps, epics, stories, and UAT.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and focus groups.
  • Experience developing business requirements.
  • Knowledge of design thinking and UX/UI visual design principles.
  • Strong business/customer engagement skills.
  • Experience developing instructional and procedural documentation and presentations.
  • High level of competence with MS Office, Atlassian suite, JIRA, and Lucid charts.
  • Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of digital products and business process optimization.
  • Experience in insurtech and/or fintech preferred.

Certification

  • Certification as a scrum master and/or product owner preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in product management, business, design, computer science, or related field or equivalent work experience

Work Environment

  • Remote: This role is a remote (work from home (WFH) opportunity) and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.
  • It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.
  • Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
  • Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary
