Summary of Work

Behavioral Health - Remote in North Dakota - Peer Support Administrator

The ND Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Behavioral Health Division is seeking a Peer Support Administrator to join the team.

As the Peer Support Administrator, you will work as part of a collaborative team focused on building capacity and administering programs supporting peer support services throughout the state.

As the Peer Support Administrator, you will support the peer support workforce, peer supervisors, and providing agencies through the implementation of best practices in training and technical assistance. You will support leadership in the peer workforce by ensuring the perspective of peers are well represented and reflected in decisions, recommendations, and products.

You will manage program related contracts, grants, and funding; administer, and monitor program budgets; establish, and monitor program goals; administer peer support certification and certification complaints. You will also support the implementation of training and technical assistance; provider and peer support guidance; be a liaison with stakeholders regarding peer support services; and serve on advisory boards, councils and committees as requested.

To succeed in this position, you must identify as a person in recovery from substance use, mental health, brain injury or a combination thereof, using their lived experience, attitudes, and skillset to facilitate the administration of peer services.

You should demonstrate recovery-oriented values and have strong planning and communications skills as well as problem-solving skills and the ability to participate effectively in collaborative and diverse decision-making processes. You should be highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively. You will be able to assess problems and identify creative solutions. You will be able to develop and maintain partnerships with state, tribal and community stakeholders while working independently and within a team. You will be able to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and presenting information to a diverse group. Some travel required.

To considered for the Peer Support Administrator you are required to have a Bachelor's degree in a related field required, or a combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

About Us: The Behavioral Health Division is a team of more than 40 professionals dedicated to effective administration of behavioral health programs and services. BHD provides leadership for the planning, development, and oversight of the state's behavioral health system. The Division works with partners within the Department of Health and Human Services and the state behavioral health system to improve access to services, address behavioral health workforce needs, develop policies, and ensure quality services are available for those with behavioral health needs.
