The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multiple weekly and bi-weekly payrolls while ensuring compliance with government regulations. The role also involves managing complex payroll adjustments, maintaining payroll records, and supporting new hire onboarding processes.
The Payroll Specialist ensures the accurate and timely processing, printing, and distribution of multiple payrolls in compliance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable government regulations. This role owns several weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, manages complex payroll adjustments and supplemental payments, and maintains complete and compliant payroll records and filings. The position also supports new hire onboarding and contributes to a growing, collaborative payroll team within a dynamic, expanding organization.
ResponsibilitiesThis role is fully remote and open to candidates in any time zone, provided they can perform effectively on Central Standard Time. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST, with some flexibility, and Mondays and Tuesdays are heavier payroll processing days, while the remaining days focus more on data processing and related tasks. The payroll function is supported by several teams that serve different regions and payroll types; this position is dedicated to office payroll, while other teams handle union payroll and prevailing wage. Timekeeping is automated, and the organization uses ECMS as its ERP and Bamboo for payroll, with Excel employed daily for data processing and reporting. The company has a long-established history dating back to 1927 and is experiencing strong, ongoing growth, offering opportunities for internal mobility and advancement. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
