Job Description

The Position

The National Account Director for Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and National IDNs in Market Access & Account Management is tasked with developing and managing business relationships with US-based Group Purchasing Organizations, National IDNs and other Large Organized Customers. The individual in this role will lead efforts to maximize the appropriate utilization of the company's portfolio, delivering resources and solutions that achieve better patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Organon’s Enterprise level relationship with these strategic customers.

  • Negotiate profitable GPO contracts that align with brand strategies.

  • Collaborate with each BU to develop and manage Enterprise level strategic and tactical account plans for these strategic customers.

  • Oversee individual account performance against strategic, financial, and product access objectives, fostering collaborations with mutual benefit for both the company and the customer.

  • Champion customer opportunities internally working with cross-functional stakeholders across the company.

  • Collaborate with Customers to ensure alignment of business-to-business priorities. 

  • Develops strong market industry acumen for GPO, IDN and other Large Organized Customers.

  • Connects brand leaders with customers as appropriate to align customer priorities with brand priorities.

  • Foster broad and deep relationships across GPOs and their strategically important members aligning Organon and customer priorities.

  • Ensure national and regional execution of product access opportunities, collaborating with the BUs, Organon’s regional account management and sales teams as well as Medical Affairs.

  • Ensure broad, profitable formulary access for the company's products within the GPO, Network, and 340(b) books of business.

  • Deliver results on launch products as appropriate and consistent with brand strategies.

  • Manage the contracting process effectively, collaborating with the BUs,  Contract Management Services and legal teams.

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed goals for the company's products within GPOs and their IDN and non-IDN members, ensuring rapid access for launch products.

  • Provide external insights to optimize product access with Marketing, Sr. Leadership, Contracting and other internal stakeholders to inform and shape brand strategy at launch and throughout product lifecycle.

  • Identifies and shares forecasts of business outcomes with accounts and leadership

  • Demonstrate compliant behavior according to the Company’s Cultural Values.

  • During internal and external interactions demonstrates high level communication skills that are personable, engaging and responsive. •

  • Exhibits emotional intelligence including active listening, empathy, and adaptability while interacting with others.

Requirements for Education, Experience & Skills

  • Required: BA/BS degree

  • Preferred: MBA and/or PharmD

  • Minimum of 12 years in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, and/or Strategic Account Management, contract negotiations, and contracting.

  • Strong business acumen with a broad and deep understanding of Large Organized Provider organizations (e.g., IDNs), managed markets and policy.

  • Self-motivated with a proven record of driving business results.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written), collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and build diverse relationship networks.

  • Clinical expertise and in-depth product knowledge to share with customers.

  • Experience with GPO and 340(b) segments.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$168,000.00 - $285,800.00
