About the role

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team!

The Marketing Manager is responsible for positioning and communicating the sopp+sopp proposition, and for developing and delivering the go-to-market strategy that supports our sales and business development growth plans.

This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded marketer who can both set the strategy and deliver it. With a strong understanding of B2B marketing strategy, market research, sales enablement, digital marketing and content creation, they will use Claude and other intelligent tools to plan, research, produce and analyse work at pace, driving engagement and visibility across all channels.

Reporting to the Business Development Director, they will be the key marketing stakeholder for the sopp+sopp leadership team, developing plans based on business priorities and being prepared to challenge the status quo. They will work closely with the Activate Group central marketing team, led by Kate Rooney, Head of Marketing and Communications, which provides design support and manages awards entries across the group.

Activate Group is a growing UK business with 1,000+ team members nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that values its people and offers genuine development and progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and deliver the sopp+sopp marketing strategy and plan, aligned to sales targets and business development priorities, across all market-facing channels
  • Research and develop propositions for new markets, sectors and channels, building market intelligence on customers, competitors and industry trends to inform strategy
  • Plan and propose the marketing budget, ensure it aligns with business goals, and track spend and return on investment
  • Work closely with the sales and business development team to generate and nurture leads, and support core sales activity including significant bids and tenders, sales collateral and events
  • Plan, write and produce content for websites, blogs, case studies, slide decks, emails, social platforms and publication partners, on time and to a consistently high quality
  • Use Claude and other intelligent tools to research, create and analyse content efficiently, and keep up to date with new tools that improve how marketing is delivered
  • Help colleagues across sopp+sopp get the most from these tools by sharing good practice and practical guidance
  • Lead the digital marketing approach, including SEO best practice, paid promotional activity, email and social, to grow visibility across key digital channels
  • Measure and report on marketing performance, including lead generation, pipeline contribution and content engagement, and use the data to improve results
  • Work in partnership with the Activate Group central marketing team, providing clear briefs to the group designer for visual media and supplying sopp+sopp input for awards entries managed centrally
  • Ensure all collateral (e.g., infographics, slide decks, video, website, email layouts) meets Activate Group brand guidelines and is relevant to the target audience
  • Contribute to group marketing strategy and shared ways of working alongside the central marketing team
  • Plan and deliver external campaigns, including events, publication partnerships and targeted campaigns, and liaise with external suppliers of photography, video, exhibition and promotional material

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • At least five years of experience in B2B marketing, covering proposition or product marketing, digital marketing and content creation
  • Ability to create a marketing strategy and do the hands-on work to deliver it
  • Ability to define value propositions for services and solutions
  • Experience of market research and turning insight into practical marketing plans
  • Confident, practical user of Claude or similar intelligent writing, research and analysis tools, with the curiosity to find and test new ones
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, social media, email marketing and PPC advertising, to drive online visibility and engagement
  • Strong analytical skills to measure and assess the performance of marketing initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of creating content from scratch - planning, researching and engaging with stakeholders to understand and deliver quality content
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders independently

Desirable:

  • Experience in fleet, motor insurance, automotive or a related B2B services sector
