JOB SUMMARY:

What does a successful Manager, Digital Marketing Technology do at Fiserv?

Fiserv is a global fintech and payments company with solutions spanning banking, global commerce, digital banking, bill payments, merchant acquiring, and point-of-sale.

As a Manager, Digital Marketing Technology, you will lead the team responsible for supporting, evolving, and scaling Impact Marketing, The client self-service marketing platform from Fiserv used by more than 2,000 users across more than 1,000 financial institutions. Impact Marketing enables financial institution clients to customize and activate marketing assets using their individual brands and profiles. You will help ensure the platform continues to deliver an effective, scalable client experience while identifying opportunities to improve its technology, processes, capabilities, and supporting resources. In addition to Impact Marketing, the team supports several other online portals targeting our Financial Institution partners and Small Business Marketers.

This is a unique player-coach opportunity for a leader who combines technical marketing expertise, practical design capability, strong visual judgment, creative problem solving, people management, and a continuous-improvement mindset. You will lead a growing team while remaining close enough to the work to troubleshoot technical challenges, evaluate development requirements, review and refine creative executions, prioritize projects, and step in when needed.

Success in this role requires someone who understands both what users see and what happens behind the scenes to make the experience work. You should be comfortable moving between HTML/CSS/JavaScript, the Adobe creative suite, creative assets, content management systems, campaign development, platform administration, analytics, project management, agency/vendor partnerships, and people leadership.

Travel required: Less than 15% Annually

Location: Client facing role. It’s a remote position, but should be near key office locations due to occasional in-person meetings. Those locations include GA, OH, NJ, IL

What You Will Do

Lead and Develop the Digital Marketing Technology Team

  • Foster a collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to experiment, introduce new ideas, solve problems, and continuously improve how the team operates.
  • Assess project complexity, estimate effort and timelines, prioritize incoming work, and delegate assignments based on team capacity and technical expertise.
  • Establish clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, remove blockers, and help team members expand their technical and professional capabilities.
  • Build scalable processes, documentation, and SOPs that increase team effectiveness and reduce reliance on individual knowledge.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a growing team responsible for the technical and operational support of Impact Marketing.
  • Serve as a hands-on player-coach, providing direction while remaining capable of stepping into technical, creative, operational, or client-facing work when needed.
  • Own, Evolve and Grow the Impact Marketing, SMB Marketing and Banker Enablement Platforms
  • Serve as a technical and operational leader for Impact Marketing  (and other portals) and its customized MarCom Central content management environment.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the platforms’ front-end user experience and underlying technical functionality.
  • Partner with internal teams and external partners to understand platform capabilities, limitations, technical requirements, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Challenge existing processes and platform limitations constructively, identifying what the technology can support rather than defaulting to what has historically been done.
  • Help evaluate future platform enhancements and emerging technologies that could improve scalability, functionality, automation, and the client experience.
  • Support platform administration, configuration, troubleshooting, user experience, and ongoing operational needs.
  • Identify opportunities to scale a platform supporting more than 2,000 users and 1,000 financial institutions while recognizing where standardization is necessary.

Lead Technical Marketing Development and Quality

  • Apply hands-on knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web technologies, and content management systems to understand, troubleshoot, and guide platform development.
  • Review technical requirements and determine the level of effort, resources, dependencies, and timelines required to deliver new campaigns and platform functionality.
  • Understand how creative concepts and design files translate into functional digital experiences within Impact Marketing.
  • Partner throughout the development lifecycle to ensure creative concepts can be successfully executed within platform specifications.
  • Perform or oversee technical and functional quality assurance to confirm campaigns and platform experiences operate as expected.
  • Troubleshoot issues across front-end experiences and underlying platform functionality and help the team respond quickly when unexpected technical issues arise.
  • Bring strong attention to detail across design, development, content, functionality, and proofreading.
  • Apply a strong eye for visual design—including hierarchy, layout, spacing, typography, color, consistency, accessibility, and brand alignment—while building, reviewing, or troubleshooting technical digital experiences.
  • Provide hands-on design support when needed and clearly articulate design rationale, opportunities, and actionable feedback to technical, creative, marketing, and agency partners.

Manage the Campaign Development Lifecycle

  • Partner with Fiserv Marketing Managers, agency creative and development teams, and internal technical resources from initial campaign kickoff through final launch.
  • Help translate marketing and creative concepts into technical requirements and platform-ready experiences.
  • Provide early technical guidance during the creative process to ensure concepts are achievable within our various portal specifications.
  • Review completed builds for technical functionality while partnering with Marketing Managers on brand, creative, and user-experience considerations.
  • Coordinate handoffs, QA, revisions, approvals, and final implementation across internal and external teams.
  • Balance customization requests against the need to create scalable solutions that work across a broad financial institution client base.

Drive Cross-Functional and Agency/Vendor Partnerships

  • Build strong partnerships across Marketing, Product, Digital Payments, Digital Channels, Card Services, Merchant Services, technical teams, and other Fiserv stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary interface between Impact Marketing and agency/creative partners, approaching agencies as strategic partners rather than transactional vendors.
  • Maintain productive partnerships with Fusion92 and other external resources supporting creative design, development, and campaign execution.
  • Navigate competing priorities and dependencies while diplomatically holding stakeholders accountable for decisions, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Push for progress when appropriate, follow up consistently, and create alignment across stakeholders without sacrificing relationships.
  • Communicate technical challenges and platform limitations in a way that marketing, creative, client-facing, and business stakeholders can understand.

Improve Processes, Reporting & Client Experience

  • Continuously evaluate workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and client experience.
  • Develop documentation and repeatable processes rather than relying on informal or manual approaches.
  • Use Salesforce and other available data sources to support platform operations, campaign execution, and client needs.
  • Leverage reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau to monitor utilization, identify trends, and communicate performance.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, technical requests, platform needs, and stakeholder priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Remain nimble when priorities change or unexpected issues arise, quickly determining the appropriate path forward.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Manager, Digital Marketing Technology will be someone who can lead the team and do the work. You understand enough about the technology to troubleshoot problems, challenge assumptions, estimate effort, and provide meaningful direction rather than simply managing tasks. You also bring practical design capability and a discerning visual eye, allowing you to recognize when an experience is clear, cohesive, accessible, and on brand—and to explain why, so others can act on your guidance.

You are naturally curious about how systems work and continuously look for ways to make them better. When a platform limitation or process challenge arises, your first instinct is to explore what is possible and find a path forward.

At the same time, you understand that successful transformation requires diplomacy. You can recognize opportunities for improvement while working effectively within the realities of a large, complex organization. You build trust with your team, internal stakeholders, and agency partners; introduce new ideas; create a structure where it is needed; and are willing to roll up your sleeves when the team needs support.

The hiring range for this discipline within our industry is $100,000 to $120,000. Where an employee is paid within this range will depend on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, years of experience, education, internal pay structure, and other contributing factors.
